Myles Garrett's Ridiculous Statement On Deshaun Watson

The one big negative in any sport is injuries. Especially in the NFL, as so many injuries occur that don't look good. Well, that happened on Sunday, as Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson suffered a Torn Achilles.

Normally, when an injury occurs, a form of respectful silence follows, followed by applause when they get up or are helped off the field. This was not the case for Watson, as the fans cheered the whole time he was hurt. The last time an injury was cheered this loudly, has to be when Lamarr Houston suffered a Torn ACL when the Bears took on the Patriots in 2015.

There are many reasons why fans have been booting Watson, especially with how terrible he has been on the field, and since has the worst contract in the NFL today. He has regressed significantly, and it doesn't help that Watson is a piece of trash off the field, based on the many allegations of sexual assault and sexual misconduct.

A teammate of Watson was not happy with what the fans did here. That player is DE/EDGE Myles Garrett. He made the following statement:

With the reaction that the fans gave, whether it's an opponent who goes down or one of our own, we don't boo,... We don't boo guys that are injured on the field, especially when the cart comes out. We should be ashamed of ourselves as Browns and as fans to boo anyone and their downfall... ive seen him work his ass off to get back here and put a smile on his face and try to put everything that's outside the facility behind him. Death threats, [people] come to his house. People going after his family. Like I said, no one deserves that. I hate using the word deserve. I'm usually consistent saying earned. He hadn't earned it, and he doesn't deserve it.

Getting death threats is not cool at all. Nobody should ever have to deal with that, including flawed human beings. Garrett is right about what he said, and that would have been a good statement to make, but then he kept going and he got ridiculous. Garrett continues by saying:

"Man does pretty much everything right. A model citizen through college and also the pros... We can't look down on a guy because of any mistakes on the field or anything off the field."

When he said that, jaws dropped from fans. Is Myles Garrett that delusional? Watson is nowhere near a model citizen off the field. This man has had more allegations of sexual harassment and assault than touchdowns scored as a quarterback. Also claiming that what Watson did off the field was a mistake is so stupid. When a person has that many Allegations against him, the word mistake to describe it is false and an irresponsible thing to say.

Then again, it shouldn't be a surprise he said that. This is the same man who once clubbed Mason Rudolph in the head with a helmet. Garrett then tried to play the race card when defending his actions. The NFL immediately called him out, because there was no evidence.

The Browns have taken a lot of losses this season, and with what Garrett said, that's the biggest loss of the season for him. Especially with the fan backlash, Garrett is getting ridiculed by everyone for his tone-deaf statement, which now will help fuel some of the fan base.
