NFL Combine Offensive Winners And Impressive RAS Scores

The NFL Combine is a crucial event that can either make or break a player's chances of being drafted. While some well-known players may choose to sit out and not compete in drills, this provides an opportunity for lesser-known players to showcase their skills and stand out.

The combine is a useful tool to assess a player's athleticism, particularly using the Relative Athletic Score (RAS). This score considers all the measurements and numbers a player records at the NFL Combine, to provide an accurate assessment of their overall athleticism.

Xavier Worthy Breaks Combine Record

Xavier Worthy set a new NFL Combine record for the 40-yard dash with an impressive time of 4.21. While some may doubt whether his speed will translate to success on the field, I believe it will. It was not the case for John Ross, but it certainly was for Chris Johnson, a running back from East Carolina University.

Worthy's junior season at Texas wasn't his best, but with his excellent combine performance, I believe he has improved his chances of being an early Day 2 pick. Although he is fast, I still don't see him as a first-round pick just because of his speed.

Michael Penix Clears Health Evaluation

Michael Penix Jr. has secured his spot as a first-round draft prospect at quarterback. He had an impressive day at the combine, demonstrating his impressive throwing abilities. However, what's more impressive are his measurements.

Although he isn't the tallest at 6'2", he has an 81-inch wingspan, 10.5-inch hands, and 33 5/8-inch arms. Additionally, he passed all medical evaluations at the combine, indicating that he is ready to show the world why he is one of the top three quarterbacks in this draft.

Isaac Guerendo Second Ranked Runningback Since 1987

Isaac Guerendo achieved an impressive score of 9.99 out of 10 RAS in his performance. He secured the second position in RAS among 1,745 running backs from 1987 to 2024. Isaac stands tall at 6 feet and weighs 220 pounds.

He has 9.25-inch hands, and he holds the record for the fastest 40-yard dash among all running backs with a timing of 4.33. Additionally, he achieved the highest vertical jump of 41.5 among running backs. Guerendo has been climbing up the draft board since the Shrine Bowl and after an impressive combine performance, I expect to see him coming off the board early on Day 2.

Penn State Tight Ends Just Aren't Sexy

I don't know how true that will be this year. Theo Johnson is a talented player known for his scoring abilities, but he is also willing to do the tough and less glamorous work that other tight ends may avoid, such as blocking. Although blocking may not be reflected on the stat sheet, it is evident on film.

Theo Johnson is an impressive prospect, with a RAS (Relative Athletic Score) ranking of number two for a tight end since 1987. Standing at 6'6" and weighing 265 pounds, he has 10.25 inch hands and can run the 40-yard dash in 4.57 seconds. After delivering an outstanding performance at the NFL combine this week, he is quickly climbing up the draft boards..
