Noah Gray's Fantasy Outlook Is Black & White

Noah Gray has been a solid backup tight end for the last two years of his career, averaging 28 catches and 302 yards per season. This is because he is behind superstar Travis Kelce. Gray did have the chance as the starter in week 1 in 2023 but only managed to get 3 catches for 31 yards. This year he does have more competition for the backup role as the Chiefs brought in Irv Smith Jr and drafted Jared Wiley.

However, Gray will more than likely still retain the backup job, so we could expect similar numbers to what he has done the last two seasons. As long as Kelce is healthy, Gray is a very risky start and will be reliant on touchdowns. In the 2023 season, he scored two TDs, one in week 4 and one in week 13.

These were the only weeks in which he finished within the top 20 at the position. Unless Kelce suffers an injury, Gray should not be rostered in redraft. He is, however, in the last year of his contract and has proven enough that he could get a chance elsewhere in 2025, making him an interesting late-round pick in dynasty leagues.

Our consensus projections for in the 2024 season are 17 receptions, 165 yards, and 2  touchdowns.
