Odell Beckham Jr Fantasy Superstar Status Is Behind Him
After a year off from the NFL, Odell Beckham Jr signed a ring-chaser-style contract with the Baltimore Ravens. Seeing him as a Raven felt weird, but he was disappointing on the field. In 14 games, Beckham was targeted 64 times and made 35 receptions for 565 yards and 3 touchdowns.
OBJ had four weeks last year when he was helpful in fantasy, finishing as WR12, WR32, WR20, and WR9. The rest of the time, having OBJ on your roster hurts you.
Odell showed signs of decline, and his ankle issue throughout the season didn't help. He is currently with the Miami Dolphins on yet another ring-chaser-style contract but is also on the PUP list.
Time will tell if he will be ready for week 1. However, he could be a solid option if Jaylen Waddle or Tyreek Hill get injured. The offense will definitely be an upgrade for fantasy since the Ravens are more run-heavy, but the depth chart is difficult or even impossible for him to rise above. It's for the best that Beckham remains on the waiver wire for now.
