Ohio State Coach Leaves After Getting Demoted
Former Ohio State quarterback coach Corey Dennis will head to Utah to join Kyle Whittingham's staff as an offensive analyst.
Dennis has been a coach at Ohio State since 2015 and worked his way up to a quarterback coach in 2020. He helped coach Justin Fields and CJ Stroud.
Dennis was demoted a month ago when Ohio State hired new offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien. Dennis was going to stay on the Buckeyes coaching staff, probably in an analyst role, but decided to head to Utah instead.
Dennis is the son-in-law of former head coach Urban Meyer, the head coach at Utah from 2003 to 2004 before being named the head coach at Florida.
Current Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham took over for Meyer in 2005, so a connection between Meyer and Whittingham helped land Dennis a job with the Utes.
