One Critical Move For Every NBA Team Should Make This Summer

The off-season of the Super Max is almost upon us in the NBA, and every team is looking to improve in different ways. Some teams are looking to land a superstar to help them over the top, some will be looking to offload contracts for monetary reasons, and others are looking to continue to add young role players to complement their stars.

There is something for fans from every team in this article, and please comment your thoughts after reading the piece. The Finals are over, and now teams can begin negotiations with their in-house FAs; July 6th is when they can look to add outside talent. What will your team do?

1. Atlanta Hawks Trade Trae Young

Trae Young
Trae Young

The Eastern Conference is stacked with teams of young talent and superstars; Trae Young and the Hawks made one run to the Conference Finals but lost to Giannis and the eventual Champion Bucks. Other than that, the Hawks have been disappointing, with little hope that it will improve as the roster is currently constructed. Young is on the smaller side, even for Point Guards, and has defensive issues that really have no threshold to get better since he is only 6'1 164 pounds with injury issues.

The Spurs are a perfect match for both the Hawks and Trae Young; the Spurs would send Devonte Graham, Zach Collins, Tre Jones, and multiple firsts, including the Hawks 2025 1st, which will likely be a lottery pick. They have the first pick in this year's draft as well; with a haul like this, they should be in a great position to rebuild into a tougher, more physical team that could be able to match up with the top of the conference.

2. Boston Celtics Reunion

Marcus Morris
Marcus Morris

The Boston Celtics just finished the story this year to hang their 18th banner in team history (most in the NBA). Brad Stevens will not sit idly by and will let the teams catch up with them. Boston can't go sign outside high-profile FAs but has the ability to give Tatum a Super Max (5 year 315 million) and Derrick White a four-year 126 million. So subtly and shrewdness is incredibly important this off-season.

There are a couple of ways they could play this, two of which are reuniting with some former Celtics. They could bring Marcus Morris back on a veteran minimum, and he proved he could still hit shots and defend in the Cavs' matchup. He wouldn't have a large workload, but give Al and Porzingis a reliable veteran insurance policy.

Another option could be Gordon Hayward, depending on how much he wants. He would give the second unit another veteran weapon, adding to that wing group. The last option would be to swing a trade for Christian Wood using picks and a depth piece to match salaries. Any of these additions could come up big as the C's try and repeat.

3. Brooklyn Nets Must Trade Ben Simmons

Ben Simmons
Ben Simmons

Ben Simmons' time in the NBA has been a major disappointment. He had all the talent in the world, but something broke mentally, and then he fell apart physically. He has a 40 million dollar salary and doesn't fit the rebuild that is coming for Brooklyn. I have a hypothetical trade scenario.

In a three-team blockbuster, the Nets would send Simmons and two firsts to the Chicago Bulls and two first-round pick swaps to the Pelicans. The Bulls send LaVine to New Orleans, and the Nets get Brandon Ingram. So, in total, the Nets would be sending Simmons two firsts and two first-round pick swaps for Ingram.

Teams will be looking at the Celtics with the wing duo of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum and try to replicate it. Brandon Ingram would be a good start to this attempt. They have plenty of capital due to trading Mikal Bridges, Simmons is going to cost multiple picks to get rid of so getting a build around piece in Ingram is a no-brainer.

4. Charlotte Hornets Sign OG Anunoby

OG Anunoby
OG Anunoby

The Charlotte Hornets are a team with potential but aren't in a spot to add a 34-year veteran to a Super Max; Anunoby is just 26 years old, offers two-way versatility, and has potential to reach. He isn't a ball-dominant player on offense, which would fit well with LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller, as they play with heavy usage.

OG can rebound and defend wings at a high level, which is something the Hornets lack. With this move, Grant Williams would move into a more supporting role rather than being a primary player. Yes, Anunoby is expensive (projected to have a 4-year 140-dollar Max contract), but he fits perfectly on the court and for their winning window.

5. Chicago Bulls Need To Blow It Up

Chicago Bulls
Chicago Bulls

The Bulls' window is over, and they tried to put together a championship team with veterans like LaVine, DeRozan, Vucevic, and Alex Caruso. They've changed the coaching, and year after year, they have underachieved. The Bulls haven't been out of the first round of the playoffs since the 2014-2015 season.

They should focus on building around Coby White. The Bulls have started this process by moving Caruso to OKC for Josh Giddey. They must continue this by trading LaVine and Vucevic for as long as possible. LaVine's value has taken a hit over the last 18 months, but here are a couple of moves they could make to do this.

They could send LaVine for Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, and Moses Moody and a 2027 first. After that, they could send Vucevic to the Heat for Duncan Robinson, Orlando Robinson, and two first-round picks (2025 & 2030). Adding five players and 4 picks well getting younger in the process.

6. Cleveland Cavaliers Extending Mitchell

Donovan Mitchell
Donovan Mitchell

The Cavs had a great run and a young core of players who can be productive, but none of that works without Donovan Mitchell, as we saw this year in the playoffs. Cleveland would have difficulty bringing in another star if he left for nothing, and they don't grow on trees. Whatever they need to do to convince "The Spida" to stay, they should.

Even if that means moving on from Garland or Mobley for someone more suited to play with Mitchell, then they should do it because he is the team and gives them a shot in the East. I'm not sure who they could get in return for those players, but it should be a pretty large haul if that is what Mitchell wants. Ultimately, the Cavs should do everything possible to get Mitchell to sign the four-year, 208.5 million-dollar contract extension.

7. Dallas Mavericks Elevate Depth Scoring

Bruce Brown
Bruce Brown

The Dallas Mavericks had a great run after the trade deadline this past season; unfortunately, they ran into the best team in the NBA in the Finals. The Celtics proved it takes more than just two prolific scorers to win a title. Derrick Jones Jr., Max Kleber, Dante Exum, PJ Washington, Daniel Gafford, and Derek Lively do not support Luka and Kyrie enough, especially when a team like the Celtics is able to stop their game plan of rim protection, lob dunks, and corner threes.

Adding players to this roster, like Bruce Brown and Kentavious Caldwell Pope, could make a big difference since both are 3 and D guys with championship experience. In the end, the Mavs have two high-level players, but they need help; Bruce or KVP couldve closed the gap in games 2 and 3 of the NBA Finals.

8. Denver Nuggets Should Trade Porter Jr

Michael Porter Jr
Michael Porter Jr

Denver is already pushing the second apron in cap space with over 170 million in salary for 11 players. KVP is an important starter at a decent price (15.6 million dollar player option). MPJ is a very good player, but he is not elite, which is what his price tag indicates (35 million dollars against the cap this season.

Jamal Murray's max contract extension is incoming, and having Jokic and Murray make 50+ million a season and MPJ make 35+ is not feasible for a team that just lost in the second round. This could be a salary dump, draft pick haul, and greatly improve the roster's depth.

The Bulls are looking to rebuild, and a front court of Jokic and Vucevic is dangerous with their ability to stretch the court. The Nuggets could send Michael Porter Jr for Vucevic, Ayo Dosunmu, and Dalen Terry, a first-round pick in 2029 and a first-round pick swap in 2030.

9. Detroit Pistons Remake The Frontcourt

Isiah Hartenstein
Isiah Hartenstein

The Pistons just fired Monte Williams for reasons unknown. The front office is impatient, and the roster is problematic, but there is still some hope to build around Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivy, and Auser Thompson. The issue is that all three of them are backcourt players, and the team lacks balance because of it.

The Pistons will need multiple off-seasons to return to competitive play, but they must bring in young, athletic, big men who can grow with this roster. They have plenty of cap space, but that doesn't mean they can land a Paul George-type player, and they shouldn't want to.

Trying to land Isiah Hartestien and Obi Toppin would be much more favorable, which gives them rebounding, athleticism, versatility, and defense. Both players just turned 26, so they should be hitting their prime when the Pistons are ready to win again.

10. Golden State Warriors Land A New Star

Zach LaVine
Zach LaVine

The Curry Warriors era is almost over, Draymond is on the 18th hole, Klay Thompson is unhappy about the current contract offers, and Andrew Wiggins isn't a number two option on a championship roster. Jonathan Kumigma has a massive ceiling but won't be ready to be a top contributor to another Steph Curry title.

The Warriors must act this year to try and maximize the tail end of Curry's career. How can they do this? They could get into a three-team deal with Chicago and New Orleans. They could send Chris Paul, Moses Moody, and Brandon Podziemiski to NOP, Chicago move LaVine to Golden State, and then the Bulls send 2030 first to the Pelicans as well to pry Brandon Ingram away from them.

Another insane move would be a three-team deal with the Cavs and Bucks in a true blockbuster. Golden State would send Chris Paul, Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminiga, two first-round pick swaps, and two second-round picks to Cleveland, so they would trade Donovan Mitchell and Caris LeVert to Milwaukee. Golden State would have to dish two more firsts and one second to the Bucks for Giannis and Pat Connaughton. BOOM! MIND BLOWN. (The likelihood of this happening is .0001%)

11. Houston Rockets Need A Superstar

Trae Young
Trae Young

The Rockets have one of the best young cores of players and assets in the whole association. They had a great run for such a young team last year, so the time is now to try to mortgage some of those assets into a significant contributor.

The Rockets could send Dillion Brooks, Amen Thompson, Jabri Smith JR, and two firsts in 2025 for Trae Young. Pairing him with Fred Van Fleet and Jalen Green would give this an explosive offense. With Ime Udoka as the HC, they will continue their defensive integrity, so Young would only have to be a sup-par defender on this team instead of trying to do too much in Atlanta. Atlanta would have two firsts in consecutive years and start building a defense with Dillion Brooks.

12. Indiana Pacers Add Haliburton Insurance

Markelle Fultz
Markelle Fultz

There aren't many players in the league who can replace Tyrese Haliburton, but they need to add someone who can fill his role if he gets hurt again in the playoffs. I think the best player on the market for this role would be Markelle Fultz. Obviously, he isn't the scorer that Haliburton is, but this offense needs a calming influence.

Even if Haliburton is in the lineup, having Fultz with the second unit would be a massive upgrade. Fultz and McConnell could be a starting backcourt for other franchises. A big reason they got swept in the ECF is due to turnovers in late-game situations. Including a pass-first guard who takes care of the ball could've made the difference in that series.

Fultz wouldn't be considered the franchise's savior and could continue to develop as an above-average role player for a great team. The Pacers can run and score with the best of the teams in the league, but they need more ball security and control to get over the hump.

13. Los Angeles Clippers Sign & Trade George

Paul George
Paul George

The Clippers have been going nowhere fast since the Khawi and PG13 era started; they will have to make a move to ensure George doesn't leave for no return. Enter the New York Knicks, who have an incredible scorer in Jalen Brunson, but the person he was brought in to help might have been outshined.

The Clippers could send Paul George to NYK for Julius Randle and Bojan Bogdanovic. This would increase the Clippers' rotation well, adding a floor-spacing big for Leonard to play off of. Bojan could add auxiliary scoring and defensive potential. Of course, this is if PG13 doesn't accept the contract offer to stay. The Clippers could sign him to a big deal that he wants, but move it for other pieces that could make the roster more balanced.

The Clippers gave up SGA, Gallinari, and seven firsts to acquire George, so if he left the team with no return, that would be almost a crippling blow to the future of their organization.

14. Los Angeles Lakers Must Resign LeBron

LeBron James
LeBron James

The Lakers may not be the best team in the association, but much like a team with Steph Curry, a team with LeBron James has a chance to win a title. Los Angeles is not trying to retool this team without James, especially after watching Boston hang its 18th banner. The organization needs to add more shooters around Bron and Davis.

Guys like KVP, Bruce Brown, or Evan Fournier would be great additions to help spread the court so that Bron and Davis can attack. If James did leave, the Lakers would look a lot like the Pelicans team Anthony Davis forced his way out of. They simply can't afford to let Lebron finish his career in another jersey.

15. Memphis Grizzlies Trade 9th Overall Pick

Brandon Ingram
Brandon Ingram

The Grizzlies are one of the few teams in the NBA that needs their core to stay healthy and out of trouble so they can succeed. They have so much talent, balance, and defensive ability. The core is young and under contract. Memphis even has a seasoned veteran in Marcus Smart, who should be able to lead them now, having had a season with the team under his belt.

Since this draft doesn't represent the best value, a deal they could make would be to contact the Pelicans and offer Luke Kennard, Brandon Clarke, Zaire Williams, Derrick Rose, the 9th overall pick, 2026 1st, and 2028 1st for Brandon Ingram and Larry Nance Jr.

Another potential deal that has been mentioned is moving the 9th pick and Marcus Smart to Houston for the third overall pick in this draft.

16. Miami Heat Trade For Another Superstar

Donovan Mitchell
Donovan Mitchell

Jimmy Buckets is turning 35 with a recent history of not taking the regular season seriously, which has landed the Heat in the play-in-game in consecutive seasons. I understand they made it to the championship in the 2022-2023 season, but at some point, they have to realize that they don't need to take the hardest road possible.

Butler needs some help. Bam isn't going anywhere, but Tyler Herro has been dangled in trade talks for years. This time, Pat Riley gets the job done. The Heat would send Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, Nikola Jovic, and 3 first-round picks to the Cavs' for Donovan Mitchell and Georges Niang.

Another trade they could make would be sending Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, and two first-rounders to Chicago in a three-team deal; Lavine would go back to the Hawks, and the Heat would add Trae Young. This would energize Butler as he heads to the end of his career giving the Heat the best chance to win a title since the LeBron days.

17. Milwaukee Bucks Need To Shed Salary

Brook Lopez
Brook Lopez

The Bucks are in a tough spot coming into this off-season. They are practically one move away from hard capping themselves to the second apron. I struggled to figure out a move they could make to improve their team. I finally realized that they are going to bank on health primarily, but there has been talk about them moving on from one of Bobby Portis, Brook Lopez, or Pat Connaughton.

Of the three, Brook Lopez makes the most money but plays the biggest role; moving him would cause Giannis to have to play more at the Center position, but this three-team trade could be enough to make that gamble to get his and Bobby Portis' money off the books. The Bucks would send Brook Lopez, a 2030 1st round pick swap to Dallas, Portis, and a 2029 1st to the Spurs (Dallas also sends Dante Exum to SAS). In return, they would get Tim Hardaway Jr and Devonte Graham.

THJ is a shooter who was into a slump and then had his minutes cut. Playing alongside Giannis, Lillard, and Middleton gives him the space to take and make threes; he will look to have a resurgent season on defense. Graham is a facilitator who can shoot well enough. His presence would let the stars play off the ball and could really affect defenses. If this iteration of the Bucks didn't work, both contracts would come off the books in 2025, giving them the flexibility they don't have this year.

18. Minnesota Timberwolves Dish KAT

Karl Anthony Towns
Karl Anthony Towns

Karl Anthony Towns is set to make 49 million dollars this season, and the Wolves are one of three teams who are already in the second apron. Shaving KAT's salary is great, but the trade is the real prize. Minnesota would send KAT to Atlanta for Trae Young in a rare one-for-one deal. This would retool ATL's roster while still making it a competitive team with improved defense. They could add another potential high-ceiling player with the number one overall pick.

For the T-Wolves, the pieces would just fit much better. A backcourt of Anthony Edwards and Trae Young has dangerous potential on both sides of the ball. Young would still be a liability on defense, but ANT's aggressiveness and Minnesota's overall ability on that end would be able to hide the issues. On the offensive side, they become dynamic, and Young's shot-making and facilitation could take it to a new level. Young Makes about 8 million less a year than KAT, getting them closer to the first apron and giving them more flexibility in the future.

19. New York Knicks Trade Julius Randle

Darius Garland
Darius Garland

Jalen Brunson has been an amazing addition at a very reasonable price. Randle has an injury history, and the Knicks have depth at the position. What they need the most is a facilitating shooter with above-average ball handling. This trade could still be possible even with the addition of Mikal Bridges

Enter the blockbuster three-team trade. The Knicks send Julius Randle to the Detroit Pistons, Miles McBride, and a 2030 first-round pick to Cleveland. Cleveland sends Darius Garland to New York, while Detriot sends Isiah Stewart, Jaden Ivey, and 2 first-round picks to the Cavs.

The Pistons get a star to pair with Cade Cunningham; The Cavs get much better depth, possibly an easier fit with Donovan Mitchell, and reload their draft picks; the Knicks rework their backcourt to try and maximize Brunson.

20. New Orleans Pelicans Move Brandon Ingram

Myles Turner
Myles Turner

The Pelicans have a very solid core, but Ingram just doesn't seem to fit in the current structure of this team. He is reluctant to catch and shoot, and his defense isn't as good as it should be for a player of his size, but he isn't a bad player. The fit just doesn't work.

They could call The Pacers and offer Ingram for Myles Turner, Bennedict Mathurin, Kendall Brown, and a 2025 first-round pick. Turner is great for the Pacers, but they need better wings with their run to the ECF. They need to turn some of that young talent into a star.

Turner can space the floor and add rim protections. The Pelicans lacked both recently; Mathurin has insane potential and would fit much better with Zion and CJ. Zion could move to small forward rather than playing as a big man.

21. Oklahoma City Thunder Acquire Markkanen

Lauri Markkanen
Lauri Markkanen

Since the Paul George trade, the Thunder have been stacking draft picks. SGA, Chet, and Jalen Williams are fantastic young core players to build around, so now OKC can leverage those picks to a rebuilding team to pry away another young star and put this team firmly in the Larry O Brien conversation.

The Thunder have four first-round picks in 2025, which would be very interesting to the Utah Jazz, who already own three 2025 first-round picks. Add in Kenrich Williams, Carson Wallace, and Ousmane Dieng; although Utah has been reluctant to move Markkanen, he may leave when his contract ends. Having seven first-round picks in 2025 would kick-start their rebuild.

Adding Markkanen and Caruso to this team gives them more perimeter defense, rim protection, floor spacing, and veteran guys who have seen many systems and situations. It feels awfully similar to the Celtics adding Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingus.

22. Orlando Magic Add Trae Young

Trae Young
Trae Young

Bancharo and Wagner might be among the most promising frontcourts in the NBA. Jalen Suggs is an improved shooter, but Cole Anthony and Markelle Fultz are limited as scorers. Jonathan Issac is a good player who has lost his role to a better version of himself in Bancharo.

This is the perfect opportunity to pounce on an offensive superstar; The Magic could send Jonathan Issac, Cole Anthony, Jett Howard, and two first-round picks for Trae Young. Orlando has an impressive defensive identity and showed it can continue that in the playoffs during their first-round rock fight with Cleveland.

Young can come into this team, and average 25-30 points and 8-10 assists a game, elevating this young squad into a threat in the East. I hate hearing about how much better the West is. The East is on the way up because of teams like the Magic.

23. Philadelphia 76ers Start A New Process

Paul George
Paul George

Currently, the 76ers have four players under contract, accounting for roughly $62 million. They have $116 million to spend just to reach the first apron, and they have to extend Tyrese Maxey, De'Anthony Melton, and Kelly Oubre Jr.

Then swap out the Buddy Hield and Nicholas Batum (possibly resign to the vet minimum if he wants to stay) contracts and use that money to bring in Paul George. He brings an elite second option to the team with a high-tier second option in Maxey. Embiid, PG13, and Maxey could be one of the league's most dangerous trios.

Let Robert Covington go and add Bruce Brown as a sixth man; he can bring an elite three and play to the role. Hell, if they have enough balls, they can try to go to the second apron and try to pry Kentavious Caldwell-Pope from Denver. Embiid, PG13, Maxey, Brown, KVP, Melton, and Oubre are formidable rosters with championship experience.

24. Phoenix Suns Should Trade KD

Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant

The Phoenix Suns tried to go all in after losing to the Bucks in 2021 but ended up blowing up their roster. They have bloated contracts and injured stars. After the KD acquisition, many thought they would be an easy title contender; instead, they got bullied by the Timberwolves. Ironically, that makes this trade harder to swallow. Karl Anthony Towns is among the few superstars who make as much as KD.

The trade would be a one-for-one, making each team fit better. KAT and Nurkic would be dominant frontcourt players who can shoot. Healthy versions of Devin Booker and Bradley Beal should cause defenses problems. They would be saving about two million with this move as well. The Wolves could add a proven champion and elite scorer to a roster that needs to learn how to win.

25. Portland Trail Blazers Sell Brogdon

Malcolm Brogdan
Malcolm Brogdan

The Portland Trailblazers are building a youthful core. Currently, Malcolm Brogdon is a great piece for a contender but has his limitations on a team that is currently living in the lottery with multiple guards looking to develop with playing time. They need to try and maximize his value before he falls off.

A team that is looking to improve their depth scoring and vying to win a championship is the Dallas Mavericks, and he would be a leader on the bench and be able to play off of Kyrie and Luka. Portland would receive Tim Hardaway Jr, Jaden Hardy, and two second-round picks. Hardaway is an expiring contract but could rehab his value in Portland. During the playoffs, Jaden Hardy showed some promise; he could grow with this team and develop into a high-quality role player.

26. Sacramento Kings Shake Up The Roster

Harrison Barnes
Harrison Barnes

The Kings were the hot new name when they gave the Warriors everything they could handle in that seven-game series in 2022-2023. Everyone thought they were on their way to being a force in the West, and they followed that up with a ninth-place finish, missing out on the playoffs.

De'Aaron Fox has expressed hesitation in signing a five-year max contract with the Kings until they show him the desire to improve the roster around him. It's clear that the roster has potential with Fox, Sabonis, and Monk as the focal points, but they definitely have some pieces they could move to make it more versatile. Harrison Barnes and Kevin Huerter are the players who stick out most to me.

They could call Denver, which needs to bolster its depth, and offer them, Barnes and Huerter, for Michael Porter Jr. Denver adds two more shooters and a veteran who could play big minutes without Jokic on the court, and the Kings get a great young wing to add to their defense and shooting. With a starting five of Fox, Monk, MPJ, Keegan Murray, and Sabonis, Sabonis is athletic, young, has shooting, size, and above-average defense.

27. San Antonio Spurs A Superstar For Wemby

Trae Young
Trae Young

As I previously stated for the Hawks' off-season move, "The Spurs are a perfect match for both the Hawks and Trae Young; the Spurs would send Devonte Graham, Zach Collins, Tre Jones, and multiple firsts, including the Hawks 2025 1st, which will likely be a lottery pick." I feel the same way from a San Antonio perspective.

Pairing Wemby with Trae Young gives the Spurs a dynamic and dangerous duo to build from. Trae Young's ability to pass the ball can highlight and improve Vitcor's game close to the rim. Yes, defensive problems can be a problem for Young, but if ball handlers drive past him, they'll have to deal with the 6-foot-7 shot blocker at the rim. It's a new era in San Antonio. They should use their assets to capitalize on what Wembly is becoming.

28. Toronto Raptors & The Youth Movement

De'Anthony Melton
De'Anthony Melton

The Toronto Raptors still have a long road to go in their rebuild. They have some veteran guys in their front court, so with roughly 60 million dollars to spend until they reach the first apron, they should be focused on youth with high potential. Players like Talon Horton-Tucker, James Wiseman, and De'Antony Melton would be great additions alongside Scottie Barnes and RJ Barrett.

Finding an extension for Gary Trent Jr. would also be beneficial. Even if he doesn't fit the roster, they could use his salary as a trade chip. when they are ready to try to compete for a championship.

If the first half of this season doesn't go well, players like Kelly Olynyk and Jakob Poeltl could be moved to contenders for more draft capital in young players. Moving them now doesn't make much sense.

29. Utah Jazz Need To Lock Up Their Core

Utah Jazz
Utah Jazz

Lauri Markkanen, Collin Sexton, and John Collins are eligible for extensions, and they have draft pick stache that rivals OKC. Utah wants to build the team from the ground up, but there must be a foundation around which to build. Markkanen can be the superstar, and Sexton and Collins can be the second and third options.

Adding players like Nic Claxton or Isiah Hartenstein could help this core, but it isn't necessary. I don't see many moves they could make during this Free Agency cycle to drastically improve since their window is more in the 2025-2026 season than the one coming up.

Depending on the return, moving on from one of these core players could be an option, but it isn't the direction Danny Ainge typically takes. Expect this team to make most of the picks they own and try to hit the jackpot like the Celtics did.

30. Washington Wizards Move On From Kuzma

Kyle Kuzma
Kyle Kuzma

Kyle Kuzma does not fit this version of the Washington Wizards. He takes too many shots and minutes from players the team is trying to develop, essentially clogging up the roster. The Wizards are trying to rebuild this team with tons of young talent. Kuzma is 29 years old already. It's like a square peg trying to fit in a round hole.

Two deals could be viable for Washington. The first one is with the Kings, who want to shake up the roster. The Wizards would send Kuzma and a 2030 first-round pick to Sacramento for Kevin Huerter and Davion Mitchell; both players are much more off-ball scorers and fit this team's window, which is still a couple of years off.

Another move they could make would be sending Kuzma and two 2030 first-round pick swaps for Lonzo Ball. I understand his injury history is scary, but if healthy, he is a great ball-handler and offensive facilitator. Moving any first-round pick for a rebuilding team sucks, but Kuzma just doesn't have a ton of appeal around the league to get a deal done like that.

End Of Rant

The NBA off-season is one of the craziest in sports. Literally, anything could happen. I might get one of these predictions right, and it would be astounding. The point is that every one of these moves makes sense for the team they represent.

Each team's move is independent of each other. So, a couple of teams should be looking to add Trae Young because he's Trae Young, and they need an offensive superstar. I hope you got all the way down to this sentence and enjoyed the article.
