Oregon Fans Should Be Shaking In Their Boots Right Now

It's not just any coach we're talking about here. Oregon's Dan Lanning, one of the most promising young talents in college football, is rumored to be stepping into the shoes of the legendary Nick Saban at Alabama, who announced his retirement on Wednesday.

Remember, Lanning was a sought-after candidate for the Texas A&M job last month but declined. However, Alabama isn't just any other job. It's a golden opportunity, boasting a talent-filled roster and a legacy as one of history's most storied college football programs.

Brett McMurphy from the Action Network reported, "Dan Lanning is expected to be the top target to replace Saban."

Lanning was a graduate assistant for Alabama in 2015, so he knows a little about the program and has been a great coach in his two seasons at Oregon.

Oregon failed to reach the playoffs in his first two seasons, but he did have an excellent team and helped turn quarterback Bo Nix into a Heisman finalist and a soon to be first-round pick.

It sounds like Alabama is Lanning's job if he wants it, and now everything is in his hands.
