Packers’ Aaron Rodgers: The Man, The Myth, The Legend
Another year and another spot on the Top 100 NFL players list. This is the 12th year that the NFL has had a Top 100 list and yes, every year Aaron Rodgers has found his name on that list. How will Rodgers perform this year with the Packers and how will it affect him in the rankings for next year?
As Aaron Rodgers enters his 18th year in the NFL, he has his eyes set on another NFL MVP award. Rodgers is coming off another great season after receiving his fourth MVP with the Packers. Can he do it again or will someone else beat him out of that top spot? Rodgers was placed at number three in this year’s Top 100 list. This will be his second year sitting at number three. Rodgers only has one top finish and that was after he received his first NFL MVP in 2011.

Can Rodgers Lead The Packers To Another Playoff Berth?
With the loss of Davante Adams in the off-season to the Las Vegas Raiders, Rodgers will need to find a new number-one target in the Packers offense. Whether that is top depth chart player Allen Lazard after he posted personal records last year, newcomer Sammy Watkins, or maybe a flashy new rookie from the draft. If all else fails, he has his dependable targets in the running backs; Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon.
Last year was the Packers’ third time posting 13 wins in the regular season. Per my NFL schedule predictions, I have the Packers winning the NFC North again and winning 13 games for the fourth time. Even with the loss of Adams, Rodgers is Rodgers and he can lead the new squad into playoff contention. The team should be able to split games with the Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions while also sweeping the Chicago Bears in the NFC North.
Aaron Rodgers, Packers Legend In The Making
Aaron Rodgers was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the 2005 NFL Draft from the California Golden Bears. He was selected in the first round at pick number 24. After sitting behind Brett Favre and learning his ways, Rodgers took over and started in 2008. Packers fans have been gifted with quarterbacks wanting to spend their NFL career in Green Bay. Brett Favre played 16 seasons for Green Bay and Rodgers is entering his 18th season. 34 seasons of quality QB play has provided many wins and a plethora of post-season games.
Jordan Love, the last Packers rookie quarterback that was selected in the draft has had the luxury of learning the ways of Rodgers just like Rodgers did with Favre. It’s uncertain if Love will be the answer after Rodgers hangs up his cleats or if a new quarterback enters the system. With three years left on Aaron’s new contract, thinking about him retiring is a sore subject. Since 2011, Rodgers has not thrown more than eight interceptions in the regular season. That’s mind-blowing.
Rodgers has had the pleasure to throw to some amazing guys over his 17 years. Guys like Donald Driver, Jordy Nelson, Davante Adams, Greg Jennings, and James Jones just to list a few. He is making sure that after he retires that he hears his name called in Canton, Ohio at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
How Will Rodgers Perform This Year With The Packers?
My projections for Aaron Rodgers this year are to once again throw less than eight interceptions. My analysis led to five interceptions to go along with 43 passing touchdowns, he should also have a couple on the ground as well. Rodgers could very well have a quality year without Davante Adams. When you have a top-three wide receiver on the team, you try to feed him the ball as much as possible, even if he’s covered. With the Packers no longer having that talent, Rodgers can throw to the guys that have created space from the defenders and create more quality looks versus the 50-yard lob downfield in double coverage.
There will be some questions to start this season at wide receiver and who will step up. Opposing teams will not plan on double covering any of the Packers players because there isn’t a need to anymore. Robert Tonyan, Marcedes Lewis, and Randall Cobb should be able to provide Rodgers with some check-down looks while Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Allen Lazard, and Sammy Watkins stretch the field. Rodgers should have no problem passing for over 4,000 yards for a fifth straight season.
