Patriots Hire A Respected NFL Coach As Their Offensive Coordinator

The New England Patriots have found their offensive coordinator on Thursday afternoon, and that would be Alex Van Pelt.

Van Pelt has spent many years in the NFL and the last four seasons in Cleveland as their offensive coordinator and quarterback coach.

The Cleveland Browns dismissed Van Pelt after the 2023 season, and I don't think he did anything wrong. Browns' head coach, Kevin Stefanski, is in charge of the offense and is the play caller. I think Stefanski just wanted a new offensive mind to challenge him and his playing calling and to get quarterback Deshaun Watson back to being what he was in Houston, and Van Pelt had to be the guy to go.

Van Pelt has spent time with the Buffalo Bills, Tampa Buccaneers, and Green Bay Packers, where he was the quarterback coach and coached Aaron Rodgers and Cincinnati Bengals.

Van Pelt is a new breath of fresh air for Patriots fans going away from guys like Josh McDaniels and Bill O'Brien.

The Patriots have a lot of needs on offense, one being quarterback, so Van Pelt will be in charge of getting the quarterback NFL-ready and hopefully a franchise guy.
