Patriots Vs. Colts: How To Watch, Stream, Listen, And More: A Complete Guide
As usual, there are plenty of different ways to watch the game for all types of viewers. Here’s an updated, compiled list of how you can get in on the action for Sunday’s game between the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts.
Patriots. Colts. When I think of modern-age NFL rivalries involving the Patriots, nothing comes even close to as sweet as this one. Our in-division rivalries are fine, but for the most part, they’ve been one-sided over the past 20 years. On the other hand, most of our games against the Colts have been legitimate classics (even though they were also usually mostly one-sided). Despite Belichick and Brady usually getting the best of Peyton Manning, the Colts win against us occasionally, now and then, so you never know how this matchup will turn out.
The QB position will once again be one of the stories highlighted during this weekend’s action. It seems fans from both fanbases have been increasingly outspoken on the topic of who’s under center for their respective team. The Patriots were just barely able to wriggle free from the development of a full-blown QB controversy based on an injury to Mac Jones, which allowed his replacement Bailey Zappe to showcase some of his apparent talents and lead the Patriots to a 2-0 record.
On the other hand, Mac Jones was 10-7 last year, and at some points throughout/during last year’s regular season, a multitude of people were saying that Mac Jones was on his way to becoming one of the best young QBs in the league. Time is a fickle mistress, or whatever they say, as only a year later, many fans have been quick to throw Mac Jones in the trash like an empty, forgotten tub of Special Edition Mac Attack ice cream. That’s just a lot of people’s natural instinct, unfortunately, in this capitalistic and materialistic world where results are the only important metrics outside of profitability. Oh well. Here’s an advertisement:
The Colts are set to send out Sam Ehlinger for the second week in a row and his second-ever NFL start. The Colts lost last week against the Commanders, but Ehlinger managed to play fairly well, and it was a close game with a final score of 16-17.
He’s not exactly a rookie QB, but he basically is, and with Belichick on the Patriot’s sideline, it’s hard to imagine that Sam Ehlinger has a great week this week. You never really know, though; obviously, from everything I’ve read about the kid, he seems like somebody who could very possibly step into the role of starting QB in today’s NFL. It should be very interesting to see how things turn out this week.
One thing that could be a factor is the Colts using Sam Ehlinger as a part of the rushing attack. With Johnathan Taylor out with an injury, the Colts are going to have to get creative in their game plan, which will likely involve some multitude of plays where Ehlinger gets a chance to run with the ball.
He was a noted threat with his legs at the collegiate level, and the Patriots have had a lot of trouble stopping mobile QBs this year. We can only hope he’s not as fast as Justin Fields or Lamar Jackson and that all of our games against dual-threat QBs have served as training that will help us shut that stuff down, once and for all, this week.
Belichick even mentioned this in a 4-minute speech he gave specifically about the Colts this week.
The play calling and scheme, they do a good job attacking. The quarterback, they’ve added some quarterback running type plays in there which obviously we haven’t been great against this year, so we’ll see how that goes. Again, a well-balanced offense. Belichick Speaking About the Colts
