Predicting The Seattle Seahawks 2024 Record Game-By-Game

We are less than 100 days away from the start of the 2024 NFL season. One team that is looking to improve from its 9-8 outing a year ago is the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle is welcoming rookie defensive tackle Byron Murphy II, whom they drafted with the 16th overall pick in April. Meanwhile, quarterback Geno Smith, running back Keneth Walker III, and wide receivers DK Metcalf, Tyler Locket, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba return to the offense.

So, how will the Seahawks fare behind new head coach Mike Macdonald? Here's a game-by-game prediction for the 2024 season.

Week One: Vs. Denver Broncos

Week One: Vs. Denver Broncos

When the Seahawks and Broncos played two seasons ago, it was Russel Wilson's return to Seattle. The Seahawks got the last laugh, winning that game 17-16. Fast forward two years and Wilson has been moved to Pittsburgh while the Seahawks continue to ride with Geno Smith as their starting quarterback. If Bo Nix is the Week One starter for Denver, I can't imagine a worse place to start your rookie season than on the road in Seattle.

Seahawks Record: 1-0

Week Two: At New England Patriots

Week Two: At New England Patriots

If Drake Maye plays for the Patriots in Week Two, Seattle could potentially face two rookie quarterbacks to start the season. However, that seems unlikely, as Jacoby Brissett is the likely starter, at least early in the 2024 campaign. The travel is challenging for Seattle, but they'll overcome that and defeat a weak Pats squad.

Seahawks Record: 2-0

Week Three: Vs. Miami Dolphins

Week Three: Vs. Miami Dolphins

Seattle faces its third-straight AFC opponent when it hosts the Miami Dolphins in Week Three. The Seahawks beat Miami the last time these teams played in 2020. A lot has changed since then, including the starting quarterbacks. Miami has a stacked roster, and it should be a serious contender in the AFC. The Dolphins also have a mini-bye heading into this game, which allows plenty of time to prepare for the Seahawks.

Seahawks Record: 2-1

Week Four: At Detroit Lions (MNF)

Week Four: At Detroit Lions

Seattle's first primetime outing comes in Week Four when they face the defending NFC North champions. Detroit will continue to build on last year's success, and with Jared Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown signed on long-term, the team can focus on trying to win a Super Bowl. The Detroit crowd will be fired up for Monday Night Football, and that's too much for the Seahawks to overcome.

Seahawks Record: 2-2

Week Five: Vs. New York Giants

Week Five: Vs. New York Giants

I don't expect the New York Giants to be good this season. They lost their best offensive weapon in Saquon Barkley, and there's little faith that Daniel Jones is the guy to make them a contender. Despite having extra rest, thanks to a Thursday Night Football game in Week Four, the Giants lose on the road to a better Seahawks club.

Seahawks Record: 3-2

Week Six: Vs. San Francisco 49ers (TNF)

Week Six: San Francisco 49ers

Seattle's first NFC West opponent is arguably the best team in the NFL, the 49ers. Seattle has lost the last seven matchups against San Francisco, dating back to September 2022. While this game should make for an intriguing Thursday Night Football game, the 49ers are a much better team, and they hand the Seahawks their third loss of 2024.

Seahawks Record: 3-3

Week Seven: At Atlanta Falcons

Week Seven: At Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta is trying to be a contender in 2024, and with Kirk Cousins at quarterback and a weak division, they should be exactly that. Atlanta won the most recent meeting with Seattle, 27-23, in 2022. Some factors that may benefit the Seahawks in this game include their mini-bye thanks to playing on TNF in Week Six and the fact that Kirk Cousins is 2-4 all-time against Seattle. I just can't see the Falcons losing this game at home.

Seahawks Record: 3-4

Week Eight: Vs. Buffalo Bills

Week Eight: Vs. Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills will look a bit different without wide receiver Stefon Diggs in the lineup, but I still expect them to be a top contender for the AFC title. Going on the road to face the Bills Mafia is never easy; the crowd noise may cause issues for Geno Smith and the Seahawks offense.

Seahawks Record: 3-5

Week Nine: Vs. Los Angeles Rams

Week Nine: Vs. Los Angeles Rams

The second divisional game of 2024 is in Week Nine for the Seahawks, when they host the Los Angeles Rams. L.A. had a surprising season in 2023, making the playoffs in a strange NFC. Some of the Rams' success was thanks to the emergence of rookie wide receiver Nuka Nacua, who recorded 105 receptions for 1,486 yards and six touchdowns. Los Angeles will be a good team, and they'll beat Seattle in this meeting.

Seahawks Record: 3-6

Week 10: BYE Week

Week 10: BYE Week

The Seahawks' BYE Week comes right in the middle of the season. Last year, Seattle's break came in Week Five, and the BYE was in Week 11 the season before that. Having the BYE Week later in the season should help get the players healthy for the back half of the campaign.

Week 11: At San Francisco 49ers

Week 11: At San Francisco 49ers

Seattle comes off the BYE Week by heading on the road to face the San Francisco 49ers. The Niners won the first game in Week Six, and they'll win this one as well. Expect a big game from the 49ers' defense as the Seahawks drop their ninth straight to their divisional rival.

Seahawks Record: 3-7

Week 12: Vs. Arizona Cardinals

Week 12: Vs. Arizona Cardinals

Arizona is confident that quarterback Kyler Murray is the best guy to lead their team in 2024. The Cardinals proved that confidence by passing on a rookie QB in the NFL Draft, instead drafting star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. If the rookie plays as advertised, this game will feature a ton of wide receiver talent, along with D.K. Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. The Seahawks end a five-game losing streak with a win at home.

Seahawks Record: 4-7

Week 13: At New York Jets

Week 13: At New York Jets

Seattle will have another tough travel week in early December as they fly across the country to play Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets. Rodgers is 7-3 in his career when playing the Seahawks. The veteran QB completed 62.2% of his passes for 292 yards and an interception in his most recent game against Seattle. New York will be coming off their BYE week heading into this matchup, and that extra prep time pays off as the Seahawks fall to 4-8.

Seahawks Record: 4-8

Week 14: At Arizona Cardinals

Week 14: At Arizona Cardinals

The Seahawks and Cardinals face off for the second time in three weeks. Seattle won the first meeting, but they'll fail to beat Arizona again. Kyler Murray will take this game over, rushing for two touchdowns and throwing for two more.

Seahawks Record: 4-9

Week 15: Vs. Green Bay Packers

Week 15: Vs. Green Bay Packers

The Seahawks enter Week 15 in a difficult situation. They're 4-9 and struggling to find themselves. Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers will not make the situation any better. Love became an instant star in his first season as the full-time starter. The Packers have put a good roster around him, and they'll be in the playoffs again in 2024. I have Green Bay beating Seattle in a close game.

Seahawks Record: 4-10

Week 16: Vs. Minnesota Vikings

Week 16: Vs. Minnesota Vikings

Seattle and Minnesota have played several memorable games over the years, and this one could also be interesting. At this point of the season, rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy could potentially be the Vikings' starter, which would be good for the Seahawks and their home fans. Despite going back and forth all game, Seattle gets back in the win column in Week 16.

Seahawks Record: 5-10

Week 17: At Chicago Bears (TNF)

Week 17: At Chicago Bears (TNF)

The string of three straight NFC North opponents wraps up on Thursday Night Football when the Seahawks travel to Chicago to face first-overall pick Caleb Williams. Chicago won the last game between these two in 2021, while Seattle hasn't won in the Windy City since 2012. The Bears faithful will be pumped on a Thursday night, and they'll beat up on a Seattle team having to travel on a short week.

Seahawks Record: 5-11

Week 18: At Los Angeles Rams

Week 18: At Los Angeles Rams

The final game of the 2024-25 season pits the Seattle Seahawks against the Los Angeles Rams. L.A. beat Seattle in Week Nine, and they'll do it again here. In the final week, the Rams will compete for playoff positioning, while the Seahawks will be ready to wrap up a disappointing campaign. Seattle finishes with a 5-12 record, good for third in the NFC West, ahead of only the Arizona Cardinals.

Seahawks Final Record: 5-12
