Top 10 Quarterback Power Rankings

Power rankings are based on this week's and previous week's performances.

10. Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons

Last Week: Unranked

The Falcons set the tone early against the Buccaneers after going for it on 4th and 3 at the 39-yard line of Tampa Bay. The gamble resulted in Kirk Cousins skying a ball to Kyle Pitts for the opening touchdown. Cousins and Pitts would add another score from 49 yards out in the middle of the second quarter.

Captain Kirk finished with two more touchdowns for a total of four on the day. He went 23-29 passing, had 276 yards, and finished with a Week 8 high passer rating of 145.9. Three of his touchdowns came from 30 yards or more.

2024 Stats: 5-3 record, 68 completion percentage, 2,114 yards, 14 touchdowns, seven interceptions, and a 97.8 rating.

9. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles

Last Week: Unranked

With the acquisition of Saquon Barkley in the off-season, the Eagles have become even more of a run team, which has helped Jalen Hurts’. He hasn’t had to do much in the passing game, as he has three games with under 185 passing yards, but his rushing numbers have benefitted. In Week 8, Hurts had a rushing touchdown hat trick, all from inside the 10-yard line. He now has seven touchdowns on the ground this year, one less than his eight passing scores.

Hurts and the Eagles beat down on the Bengals 37-17. In the blowout win, Hurts went 16-20 passing with 273 total yards, four total touchdowns, and a rating of 132.5.

2024 Stats: 5-2 record, 69 completion percentage, 1,799 yards, 15 touchdowns, four interceptions, and a 98.6 rating.

8. Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks

Last Week: 5th

The rainy conditions proved to play a factor in the Seahawk's matchup with the Buffalo Bills. Multiple blunders including a high snap inside the red zone, and Geno Smith slipping on 4th and goal, resulting in potential points being taken off the board. The mistakes ultimately led to a 31-10 defeat.

Smith had a tough outing, throwing 29 balls and completing 21 of them. He finished the game with 212 passing yards, zero touchdowns, one interception, and a 78.5 rating. Another big factor in the loss was a poor run game. Smith led the team in rushing yards with 16 on five attempts, four more yards than Kenneth Walker.

2024 Stats: 4-4 record, 69 completion percentage, 2,374 yards, nine touchdowns, seven interceptions, and an 88.4 rating.

7. Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Last Week: 7th

The Bucs lose another close one to the Atlanta Falcons, this time by a score of 31-26. Tampa was without two of their top weapons, Chris Godwin (Ankle) and Mike Evans (Hamstring). Rachaad White, Bucky Irving, and Cade Otton stepped up for Baker Mayfield in the absence of the two-star receivers.

Mayfield completed 37-50 passes for 330 yards, three touchdowns, two interceptions, and a 94.6 rating. It is his third straight week with 35+ passing attempts. Otton was the leading receiver for the Bucs, with nine receptions for 81 yards and two touchdowns. Irving and White combined for 12 catches, 78 yards, and one touchdown.

2024 Stats: 4-4 record, 71 completion percentage, 2,358 yards, 23 touchdowns, nine interceptions, and a 104.9 rating.

6. Sam Darnold, Minnesota Vikings

Last Week: 6th

After a 5-0 start, the Vikings have dropped two straight games after their Week 6 bye. Their previous loss comes at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams, who defeated Minnesota 30-20 on Thursday Night Football.

Sam Darnold was efficient in the defeat. He completed 72% of his passes for 240 yards, two touchdowns, and a 128.8 rating. Darnold got the role receivers involved, as Josh Oliver and Trent Sherfield caught touchdown passes.

2024 Stats: 5-2 record, 67 completion percentage, 1,716 yards, 14 touchdowns, five interceptions, and a 107.2 rating.

5. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

Last Week: 9th

The Bills entered a hostile and rainy Seattle environment and cruised back to Buffalo with a dominant 31-10 victory. Josh Allen and Khalil Shakir were on the same page the entire game, as the two went for nine catches for 107 yards. Rookie Keon Coleman also seems to be settling in after another big week, this time catching a two-yard jump ball touchdown.

Allen also threw a 12-yard score to tight end Dalton Kincaid to finish with 24-34 passing, 308 total yards, two touchdowns, one interception (first pick of the year), and a 102.9 rating.

2024 Stats: 6-2 record, 64 completion percentage, 1,970 yards, 17 touchdowns, one interception, and a 107.6 rating.

4. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals

Last Week: 4th

The Bengals got blown out at home 37-17 against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Bengals' defense continues to be unable to get off the field, which has limited Joe Burrow and their high-powered offense.

In the loss, Burrow completed 26 of 37 passes for 234 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and an 84.7 rating. He also picked up 15 yards on the ground. His lone touchdown went to Ja’Marr Chase in the first quarter. Cincy’s poor record has not affected Chase and Burrow, as the two now have connected on seven touchdowns on the season.

2024 Stats: 3-5 record, 70 percent completion percentage, 2,099 yards, 16 touchdowns, three interceptions, and a 106.5 rating.

3. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions

Last Week: 2nd

The Detroit Lions pummeled the Tennessee Titans 52-14 behind an offensive outburst. Jared Goff did not have to do much, as he only threw the ball 15 times, completing 12 passes for 85 yards, three touchdowns, and a 129.9 rating.

Goff only drops one spot despite only passing for 85 yards. His accuracy has been impeccable this season, as he now has four games with a completion percentage of 78% or higher. The Lions now have 24 offensive touchdowns and only 19 incompletions in the last five games.

2024 Stats: 6-1 record, 74 completion percentage, 1,720 yards, 14 touchdowns, four interceptions, and a 115.3 rating.

2. Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders

Jayden Daniels

Last Week: 4

Jayden Daniels suffered a rib injury that sidelined him for most of last week’s game. He was tabbed as a game-time decision leading up to a showdown with Caleb Williams and the Bears, but he was able to suit up and play.

Daniels has impressed the NFL world this year with his incredible accuracy and electric running game, but he outdid himself this week, with one of the season's best plays. Down by three points with two seconds left, Daniels ran around on a Hail Mary attempt to buy time before ultimately heaving the ball 65 yards in the air for a game-winning touchdown to Noah Brown.

On top of the Hail Mary, the rookie went 21-38 throwing for 326 yards, one touchdown, and a 92.7 rating. He also tacked on 52 ground yards on eight attempts.

2024 Stats: 6-2 record, 72 completion percentage, 2,160 yards, 11 touchdowns, two interceptions, and a 104.3 rating.

1. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

Lamar Jackson

Last Week: 1st

After five straight wins, the Ravens fall to the Cleveland Browns 29-24 in an AFC North clash. In the loss, Lamar Jackson had a solid game to retain the number one spot in this week’s quarterback power rankings.

Jackson completed 23 of 38 passes for 289 yards, two touchdowns, and a 101.8 rating. He had 46 rushing yards on eight carries. Lamar’s first touchdown pass was an 11-yard strike to Nelson Agholor and his second of the game went to tight end Mark Andrews. After a slow start to the season, Andrews and Jackson have now connected on four touchdowns in the last three games.

2024 Stats: 5-3 record, 67 completion percentage, 2,600 yards, 19 touchdowns, two interceptions, and a 115.4 rating.
