Rasheen Ali Has Handcuff Value For Fantasy

Rasheen Ali was drafted in the 5th round with the 165th pick overall by the Baltimore Ravens after he spent four years in Marshall. Ali only played two full seasons, during which time he had 462 carries for 2536 yards (5.5 yards per carry) and 38 touchdowns. In those two seasons, he also compiled 38 receptions on 74 targets for 555 yards (7.3 yards per reception) and 2 receiving touchdowns.

The Ravens made a big splash this off-season when they acquired Derrick Henry, who will team up with Lamar Jackson to handle most of the rushing share in this offense. Keaton Mitchell is still recovering from his injury, so Ali does have upside as the second healthy back on the depth chart.

If Henry were to go down, there is a strong chance that Ali would be the primary running back for this high-powered Ravens attack, and Justice Hill would be involved just enough to annoy everyone. Ali has some potential and a decent path to touches, albeit from injuries in the short term, but he could very well end up the starter after Henry leaves. That alone justifies his fourth-round price tag in rookie drafts and his 231st ADP in startup dynasty leagues. Regarding redraft, it's probably best to grab him off the waivers if an injury occurs.

Our consensus projections for Ali in the 2024 season are 24 carries for 85 yards and 0 rushing touchdown. As well as 2 receptions, 16 yards, and 0 touchdowns.
