Rashod Bateman Is Battling For Fantasy Relevance In 2024
Rashod Bateman was once seen as a potential number 1 receiver for Lamar Jackson to throw to. However, it just has not panned out so far in Batemen’s three-year career. Injuries are a reason why, but it hasn't helped that Zay Flowers and Isaiah Likely have developed quicker than Bateman has.
Bateman also had yet another disappointing season, finishing last season with mediocre stats. With 56 targets, he only had 32 receptions for 367 yards and a receiving touchdown. There was only one week where Bateman got over 50 receiving yards. Funny enough, it was the one week that Bateman had more than receptions all season.
Luckily for Bateman, Odell Beckham has not signed a new deal with Baltimore (For Now), and the Ravens gave him a two-year extension in April, so they have not given up on him yet. The Ravens will continue to be a run-heavy offense with limited opportunities for pass catchers.
If he can stay healthy and play consistently, there's a chance he could be a value in the draft; however, until he does, it's for the best that he remains on waivers—unless you are in a deep league with slim options.
Our consensus projections for Bateman in the 2024 season would be: 30 receptions, 310 yards, 3 touchdowns.
