Revenge Games Around The NFL In Week 11
The 2024 NFL season has been action-packed, with the home stretch of the season within sight. As the season winds down the games get intense as playoff spots go up for grabs. With emotions running high, the stars shine the brightest. These players are heading into week 11 with a chance at revenge against their old team.
Zach Ertz vs. Philadelphia
Zach Ertz will go down as a legendary Eagles tight end. Philadelphia drafted him in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft and he spent nine years with the Eagles. In those nine years, Ertz was able to appear in three Pro Bowls and win a Super Bowl in 2017. His best season in Philadelphia came in 2018 when he caught 116 passes for 1,163 yards and eight touchdowns. In Washington, Ertz has caught 37 passes for 381 yards and one touchdown.
Jahan Dotson vs. Washington
The Commanders drafted Jahan Dotson with the 16th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Dotson only spent two odd seasons there before getting traded to the Eagles. In those two seasons in Washington, Dotson caught 84 passes for 1,041 yards and 11 touchdowns. He hasn’t been able to hit his ceiling in Philadelphia either, but the revenge game could be a good spark for the young receiver.
Jameis Winston vs. New Orleans
Jameis Winston has somehow found himself as the starting quarterback of the Cleveland Browns, and now he has a chance for revenge against the Saints. He spent four seasons in New Orleans, only starting ten games and leading them to a 6-4 record with him under center.
Winston’s two starts in Cleveland have gone exactly as anyone would expect. In his first start, he threw for 334 yards and three touchdowns to beat the division-rival Ravens. His second start saw him throw three interceptions in a loss to the Chargers. A chance at revenge against the Saints might not hit as hard with Dennis Allen out of the picture, but could get Winston back on track.
Joe Flacco vs. New York Jets
Joe Flacco has played for five NFL teams at this point, so he gets plenty of chances at revenge. In week 11, Flacco gets a chance to put the struggling Jets in the dirt. He spent three seasons with the Jets and started nine games with a record of 1-8. His win came in week two of the 2022 season in Cleveland when Flacco threw the game-winning touchdown to Garrett Wilson with 22 seconds left.
Patrick Queen vs. Baltimore
It isn’t often that a player signs with a division rival, but Patrick Queen broke those barriers down in the AFC North. Queen was drafted 28th overall by the Ravens in the 2020 NFL draft and spent four seasons in Baltimore. He started in all 67 games he played as a Raven, grabbing four interceptions, five forced fumbles, and six fumble recoveries including one for a touchdown. Queen also had 13.5 sacks, 297 solo tackles, and 37 tackles for loss.
This season Queen finds himself on the other side of the best rivalry in football. He’s played nine games as a Steeler, getting better as the season progresses. He’s made 62 total tackles, 33 solo tackles, and four tackles for loss. The former Raven is second on the Steelers in total tackles, third in solo tackles, and fourth in tackles for loss.
Hayden Hurst vs. Cincinnati
Hayden Hurst only spent one season with the Bengals in 2022, but anything can happen in the week 11 episode of Sunday Night Football. In his lone season in Cincinnati, Hurst caught 52 passes for 414 yards and two touchdowns. Hurst finds himself with just seven receptions for 65 yards in seven games played this season with the Chargers. The NFL shouldn’t have flexed this game to primetime, but Hurst could give fans something to root for.
Dalton Schultz vs. Dallas
The Cowboys drafted Dalton Schultz in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Schultz spent five seasons with a star on his helmet before signing with the other team in Texas. His best season with the Cowboys was 2021 when he posted 808 yards and eight touchdowns on 78 receptions. This season with the Texans, he still hasn’t found the endzone. A revenge game against Dallas is a perfect time to have the best game of his season.
