Rico Dowdle Has A Chance At Fantasy Glory In 2024
Rico Dowdle will be an interesting fantasy evaluation going into this season. There were thoughts that he might have been the RB1 in Dallas now that Tony Pollard is gone, but Ezekiel Elliott's return to Dallas puts a damper on that.
Dowdle is coming off career highs in nearly every category, but that is expected, considering he only had seven career touches prior to last season. He totaled 505 total yards and four touchdowns from scrimmage in 2023. Considering Dallas didn't bring anyone else in aside from Zeke, who is possibly going to be an early-down/short-yardage back, Dowdle could see another 100+ touch season, with the upside for more.
He showed flashes of fantasy production when given double-digit touches last season, but those also came during blowouts. Rico had four weeks where he scored double-digit fantasy points last season. He could break out this year, but he is already 26 years old, so for Dynasty, if you can sell him early if he performs well, it might be better for your roster. Still, Dowdle has the upside in an open RB room and high-powered offense.
Our consensus projections for Dowdle in the 2024 season are 158 carries for 551 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns. As well as 29 receptions, 197 yards, and 2 touchdowns.
