Romeo Doubs Controls His Fantasy Destiny In 2024
Romeo Doubs's performance last season was definitely improved compared to his rookie season. In 96 targets, Doubs had 59 receptions for 674 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns. Those are really intriguing numbers, but there is a risk here. Doubs only finished as a WR1 (top 12 WR for the week) once in his 16 regular season games; he had 4 WR2 finishes (13-24 WR finish for the week); the rest of the time, he was a WR3 or worse for your fantasy team.
It doesn't appear to be a talent issue since he went off on Dallas in the Wildcard game with 6 receptions, 151 yards, and a touchdown. He's 6'2, 204 pounds, and showcased that with 8 touchdowns. Can that number increase? Doubs had 18 red zone targets last season, which is tied for first place on the team with Jayden Reed. 7 of his 8 touchdowns came in the red zone. There is a chance this number could increase in 2024.
The issue with Romeo's fantasy value is that Green Bay is loaded with talent on offense, especially at wide receiver, with Jayden Reed, Christian Watson, Dontayvion Wicks, etc. Now, the Positive part is that Green Bay did a solid job spreading the ball to others throughout the season.
Watson's return may not impact Doubs as much as people think; Doubs was the only WR that was not impacted much by Watson’s return. Doubs 17 17-game pace without Watson put him on track for 162.9 points, and with Watson, it would have been 151 points. Doubs snap share actually went up with Watson on the field as well, going from 78% to 82.2%
Doubs proved himself to be a reliable option in fantasy and is worthy of a draft selection in the mid-to-late rounds of fantasy drafts.
Our consensus projections for Doubs in the 2024 season are 57 receptions, 652 yards, and 5 touchdowns.
