Roschon Johnson Never Got A Fair Shot For Fantasy

Johnson was an intriguing prospect coming into the 2023/24 NFL season. He did get some reps during his rookie season and showed potential. In 81 carries, Johnson rushed for 352 yards (4.35 yards per carry) and even had 2 rushing touchdowns. Johnson showed flashes as a pass catcher, too, as he was targeted 40 times and made 34 receptions for 209 receiving yards (6.15 yards per reception).

Roschon Johnson had three weeks where he scored double-digit fantasy points (Week 1, Week 12, and Week 17). In these weeks, he either had a touchdown or 5 targets or more. Johnson has potential; however, his stock in fantasy was instantly lowered the moment the Bears signed D’Andre Swift. The Bears made him a priority signing in Free Agency, and he was actually the first player signed once players and teams were allowed to finalize deals with the public.

Swift is clearly going to be Chicago's number-one back, and with Khalil Herbert still on the team, it's unlikely Johnson will get reps unless injuries occur. Keep Johnson on the waiver wire for now unless you are in a super deep fantasy league with slim options.

Our consensus projections for Johnson in the 2024 season are 132 carries for 609 yards and  4 rushing touchdowns. As well as 19 receptions, 123 yards, and 2 touchdowns.
