Royce Freeman's Fantasy Outlook In 2024
In the 2023 season, Royce Freeman had a little resurgence after being given the chance to play in an injured Rams backfield. These chances came over a five-week span, during which he had 63 carries for 292 yards and added two rushing TDs. After this stretch, he rarely saw the field and became a depth piece for the team once again.
This offseason, he signed a one-year deal with the Cowboys. Although it looks like Ezekiel Elliot and Rico Dowdle will get a majority of the backfield touches, there certainly is room for someone else to step up and take snaps away from them.
If Freeman impresses this offseason and finds himself on the 53-man roster, we could see him take more snaps if Elliot or Dowdle have early struggles. He will likely never have a heavy workload, but he could be someone to watch as we learn more about how the Cowboys' backfield will unfold.
Our consensus projections for Freeman in the 2024 season are 22 carries for 74 yards and 0 rushing touchdowns. As well as 3 receptions, 10 yards, and 0 touchdowns.
