Rutgers Destiny Adams Is Dominating The NCAA

With the WNBA draft lottery just days away, it's possible that analysts and teams might be overlooking one of the best players in women's college basketball. Rutgers senior, Destiny Adams, has been obliterating opposing teams and players to start the 2024- 25 college season.

The 6'3 guard uses her elite length and athleticism to not only score, but crash the boards as well. Adams is currently averaging 25.7 points (2nd in nation) and 15 rebounds (1st) per game. Where did she come from, how did she get here, and where is she currently being projected in the upcoming draft?

Destiny Adams, NCAA, Rutgers, Stadium Rant

Destiny Adams High School

Adams was a 2,000 point scorer for Manchester Township in New Jersey. She averaged 18.1 points and 11.8 rebounds per game as a junior, leading her team to a 28-4 record. Her team only played 15 games in a covid-19 shortened 2020-21 season, going 10-5, with Adams averaging 30 points and 18.7 rebounds per game.

Adams had eight 20-20 games her senior season, including her final high school game against Jackson Memorial, when she put up 50 points and 21 rebounds, in an 89-71 win. A four-star recruit by ESPN, she committed to North Carolina. She was the fourth ranked wing in her class, and the 20th best player overall.

Destiny Adams College Career

Adams played two seasons for the Tar Heels, averaging 3.6 points and 3.2 rebounds per game, in 13 minutes per game. She transferred to Rutgers before the 2023-24 season, where she averaged 15.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per game as a junior.

Adams opened the 2024-25 seasons against Manhattan, scoring 14 points and pulling down 8 rebounds in 24 minutes. Her domination started in the teams second game against Cornell, when she had 30 points and 15 rebounds in 32 minutes. The following game against NJIT, she had 36 and 22. Circle Sunday, January 5th on your calendars. That's when Rutgers will face off against USC, and potential top WNBA Draft pick Kiki Iriafen.

Destiny Adams WNBA Mock Draft

ESPN put out their WNBA mock draft back in September, and did not have Adams in their first round projections. Tankathon currently does not have her in their top 25. Whoever gets Adams is going to get a bonafide superstar, and I pity any team who sleeps on her talents. General Managers, get the game tape on, because you don't want to miss out on a player like her.
