Ryan Day Has Done It! Landed The Best Player In College Football
I don't want to hear anything bad about Ryan Day until he loses to Michigan again. Still, right now, he is doing everything great through bringing most of his roster back and hitting it big in the portal, and on Friday night, Day added the best player in the transfer portal and maybe the best player in all of college football.
Alabama's true freshman safety, Caleb Downs, is heading to Ohio State, and this is a big one.
Downs came to Alabama and started from Day one, and if you know anything about Nick Saban, it is tough to start in his secondary as a true freshman, but that didn't stop him.
Downs showed up all over the field for the Crimson Tide, and when Saban retired, he hit the portal, and many thought he would find himself going to Georgia.
Downs positional coach Travaris Robinson left Alabama a few weeks ago and took a job with Georgia, and Downs is also from the state, so it was linking up that he would head to the Bulldogs, but Ryan Day and Ohio State had other plans, and man, did they come up clutch.
Downs is now a Buckeye, and Day is having an offseason to remember, but of course, this means nothing if they don't win this season and beat Michigan. Right now, Day is going crazy.
