Saints Injury Update Ahead Of Week Two Battle With Bucs

The injury report has been released for the Week Two matchup of the Saints vs Buccaneers in New Orleans.

Saints “Questionable” Players

Alvin Kamara (Rib), Tre’Quan Smith (Shoulder), Dwayne Washington (Hamstring), Jameis Winston (Back), Mark Ingram (Ankle), and Alontae Taylor (Hip) were all listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report.

Alvin Kamara charted one limited practice on Wednesday before being held out of both Thursday and Friday practices.

Wide Receiver Tre’Quan Smith and Running Back Dwayne Washington were both inactive in last week’s win against the Falcons. Washington nurses the same injury while Smith moved to a shoulder issue from a groin issue.

Winston, Ingram, and Taylor were all active last week, and they all logged a full week of limited practices.

Saints “Out” Players

Paulson Adebo is the only player that was listed as out on the injury report.

The team’s starting corner was out for Week One as well with an ankle injury, the same one he has been nursing this week as he did not participate in any of the squad’s practices.

Who is Good To Go For The Saints?

Players listed on the injury report but are set to hit the field are Cameron Jordan, Marcus Maye, and Landon Young.

Defensive End Cameron Jordan chalked up five solos with two assisted tackles.

Safety Marcus Maye piled up eight solos and one assisted tackle to go along with a forced fumble.

Landon Young is currently listed as the backup Right Tackle on the depth chart.

Impact Of Saints Injuries

The injury to Alvin Kamara may be the most concerning. Kamara was taken out of the game last week to get his rib injury checked out. He only had 12 touches overall in the game with a disappointing 46 yards, something we are not used to seeing from the Saints star.

Winston did not seem to be showing signs of pain or injury in last week’s contest. There should not be much of an impact going into Week Two.

The biggest impact on the Saints is the injury and absence of cornerback Paulson Adebo. While Bradley Roby is a fine player to fill in, New Orleans would love to have their number two guy back on the field.

The Saints will host their division rival, the Buccaneers on Sunday.
