SEC Week Five Picks And Best Bets

Another loaded SEC slate headlined by Georgia traveling to Auburn for The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry and LSU traveling to Oxford.

Let's not waste time and get into the picks.

The Picks

#22 Florida at Kentucky (-3), 12:00 PM, O/U 44, ESPN

Previous Week:

Charlotte at Florida (W), 22-7

Kentucky (W) at Vanderbilt, 45-28

Location:

Kroger Field

Analysis:

Florida has a record of 53-20 all-time against Kentucky. Kentucky has won the last two of this series.

Kentucky is 3-1 ATS on the year and 3-0 ATS at home. Florida is 1-2 ATS and 0-1 ATS on the road.

I'm gonna go with the Wildcats and the points.

Score Prediction:

Kentucky 24 Florida 18

Best Bet:

Kentucky -3

Texas A&M (-6.5) vs. Arkansas, 12:00 PM, O/U 55.5, SEC Network

Previous Week:

Auburn at Texas A&M (W), 27-10

Arkansas (L) at LSU, 34-31

Location:

AT&T Stadium

Analysis:

Texas A&M quarterback Connor Weigman left the second quarter of the Auburn game with an ankle injury and was taken to the locker room.

Weigman's injury was confirmed to be season-ending on Wednesday. The Aggies now turn to transfer Max Johnson to be the starting quarterback.

Even without Weigman, I still like the Aggies to win but the Razorbacks to cover.

Score Prediction:

Texas A&M 34 Arkansas 28

Best Bet:

Over 55.5

#1 Georgia (-14.5) at Auburn, 3:30 PM, O/U 47, CBS

Previous Week:

UAB at Georgia (W), 49-21

Auburn (L) at Texas A&M, 27-10

Location:

Jordan-Hare Stadium

Analysis:

Auburn welcomes the defending national champions - Georgia Bulldogs for the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry.

Georgia's program is at the highest point it's ever been at right now. Auburn is still in a rebuild after Bryan Harsin left Auburn's football program in a mess.

Georgia has too many athletes at this point for Auburn. I think one day this game will be more competitive under Hugh Freeze in a few years.

Score Prediction:

Georgia 30 Auburn 13

Best Bet:

Georgia -14

#23 Missouri (-13.5) at Vanderbilt, 4:00 PM, O/U 54.5, SEC Network

Previous Week:

Memphis at Missouri (W), 34-27

Kentucky at Vanderbilt (L), 45-28

Location:

FirstBank Stadium

Analysis:

Vanderbilt has a 2-3 record and 0-4 ATS. Meanwhile, Mizzou is 4-0 and 2-1 ATS.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. I will fade Vanderbilt any chance I get.

Score Prediction:

Missouri 35 Vanderbilt 21

Best Bet:

Over 54.5

South Carolina at Tennessee (-12.5), 6:30 PM, O/U 63.5, SEC Network

Previous Week:

Mississippi State at South Carolina (W), 37-30

UTSA at Tennessee (W), 45-14

Location:

Neyland Stadium

Analysis:

Tennessee has one of the best home atmospheres in all of college football and South Carolina hasn't won there since 2017.

Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton is going to have a big game against the 128th-ranked Gamecock pass defense. Spencer Rattler and the South Carolina offense will get theirs too.

This is going to be a very high-scoring game. Last year's matchup had a combined 101 points. Tennessee wins but South Carolina covers.

Score Prediction:

Tennessee 37 South Carolina 31

Best Bet:

Over 63.5

#12 Alabama (-14.5) at Mississippi State, 8:00 PM, O/U 47, ESPN

Previous Week:

Ole Miss at Alabama (W), 24-10

Mississippi State (L) at South Carolina, 37-30

Location:

Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field

Analysis:

Alabama bounced back for a win against Ole Miss at home after a rough performance barely beating USF.

On Saturday they look like Alabama in Saban's early years. Running the ball, playing good defense, and dominating the time of possession.

I don't expect anything different from the Tide this Saturday. Mississippi State's defense is ranked 63rd in rushing yards allowed which is only three spots above Ole Miss.

Mississippi State is 1-3 ATS on the year and I expect that trend to continue here. Alabama wins and covers.

Score Prediction:

Alabama 35 Mississippi State 14

Best Bet:

Alabama -14.5

SEC Game Of The Week

#13 LSU (-2.5) at #20 Ole Miss, 5:00 PM, O/U 67, ESPN

Previous Week:

Arkansas at LSU (W), 34-31

Ole Miss (L) at Alabama, 24-10

Location:

Vaught-Hemingway Stadium

Analysis:

Both teams are coming off physical SEC West battles and that doesn't end anytime soon for either team.

This game is always a physical matchup and that favors LSU. LSU is 7-3 in their last 10 games against Ole Miss and 6-4 ATS.

LSU comes in with the best passing attack in the SEC. Ole Miss has one of the worst pass defenses in college football ranking 85th out of 133 teams.

Give me LSU and the points.

Score Prediction:

LSU 34 Ole Miss 27

Best Bet:

LSU -2.5
