Rex Burkhead Had A Long And Successful NFL Career
A star out of Nebraska, it took Burkhead over a year to score his first career touchdown and only had 13 rushing attempts in his first three years. But Burkhead was given an opportunity in 2016, where he rushed for 344 yards and two touchdowns. The following season, he signed with the New England Patriots, where he found the most success. In four seasons, he ran for 852 yards, six touchdowns, and added nearly 700 yards in the receiving game as well.
A Key Player In Super Bowl LIII
During the Patriots' 2018 Super Bowl run, Burkhead ran for 96 yards on 23 attempts and three touchdowns including 58 total yards in Super Bowl LIII in the 13-3 victory. In the 2021 season, Burkhead joined the Houston Texans, where he ran for a career-high 427 yards and received nearly double carries than any other season in his career. His final season was in 2022, where he only received 26 carries for 80 yards. He did not play in the 2023 NFL season. Congratulations to Rex on his retirement and we wish you the best of luck!
