Survivor Picks Week 11 For 2024 NFL Season
Week Eleven of the 2024 NFL season is here. As always, I will start by discussing the rules for a survivor pool. It is a weekly contest where people select one team per week, straight up, to win their game.
If a chosen team wins, it advances to the next week, but remember that the selected team can't be used for the rest of the season. If a team they chose for that week loses, it is eliminated from the pool.
Now that the rules are set, it is time for me to give my top three options: a risky pick, a trap pick, and a survivor pick that I would have made if I were still alive in Survivor. It would have been nice for Cincinnati to prepare for their first regular-season game.
1. Detroit Lions (vs Jacksonville Jaguars)
This is the easiest, safest, stress-free, and most obvious choice in Survivor this week. The Detroit Lions are Superbowl Contenders, and the Jaguars are a Tank Team in the Tournament for the 1st Overall pick. Along with Mac Jones starting this game, the Lions Defense should have 3 interceptions, as Jones sucks. This game is in Detroit, so they should handle business this week. This is the freebie spot on a bingo card.
2. Miami Dolphins (vs Las Vegas Raiders)
The Miami Dolphins did pretty well against the Los Angeles Rams, and Tua Tagovailoa looked great. This week they are facing the Las Vegas Raiders, who are much less talented, and aren't a properly coached team. Antonio Pierce was a great story last year, but he just isn't ready for that head coaching role yet. It seems like Gardner Minshew is starting for the Raiders this week, but honestly, it doesn't matter, because every QB in that room for the Raiders sucks. Desmond Ridder and Aidan O'Connell are both scrubs as NFL QBs. There are 16 backup QBs right now I would rather start over those two. If Miami wants to prove that they are a playoff team, then they should take care of business against a Raiders team going nowhere.
3. Minnesota Vikings (At Tennessee Titans)
The Vikings need to get their act together, because they have not been performing well at all in the past 4 games. If the Jaguars had Trevor Lawrence starting last week, the Vikings would have likely lost that game. This week they get to face the Tennessee Titans, who are another terrible team that is tanking to secure the 1st overall pick.
It looks like the Titans will be starting Will Levis, and while he's better than Mac Jones, Levis is still going to have his hands full with this elite Vikings defense. Did you know, that according to DVOA, the Vikings have the best defense in the NFL? Imagine saying that in Week 1. Although the Vikings have plenty of weeks to be chosen in Survivor, this is a solid spot to use them.
Risky Pick - Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears
There are many risky options to choose from in Survivor this week, but the one that stands out the most is the Green Bay Packers. Mainly because it's a divisional game, and Jordan Love is still playing hurt. It's clear his groin issues are affecting his plays, and while Green Bay is coming off a bye, those injuries are nagging.
Luckily, they face the dysfunctional Chicago Bears, who recently fired their offensive coordinator, Shane Waldron. He was a terrible hire from Day 1 as he had no business being an OC. The Bears should have gone further, and fired Matt Eberflus, as he is an awful head coach. Then again, the Bears franchise is run by accountants, and it's not cheap to part ways with Eberflus mid-season. He is arguably the worst coach in the league today, and he's losing the locker room quickly.
If you want to go risky and take a divisional matchup, the Packers are the way to go.
2024 Risky Survivor Pick History (6-4) - Week 1: Minnesota Vikings, Week 2: Washington Commanders, Week 3: San Francisco 49ers, Week 4: Tennessee Titans, Week 5: New England Patriots, Week 6: Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Week 7: Jacksonville Jaguars, Week 8: Arizona Cardinals, Week 9: New Orleans Saints, Week 10: New York Giants
Trap Pick - New York Jets vs Indianapolis Colts
Can someone explain why the Jets opened up as 5-point favorites against the Colts? Why are 2.5% of survivor players taking the Jets? The Colts defense is horrendous, and it looks like a raw Anthony Richardson is going to start, but they are not a dysfunctional franchise like the Jets are. This team has seemingly given up on the season, and looked unmotivated with Ulbrich as the coach. Stay away from the Jets for the rest of the season. Trust me, as a fan you'll be stress-free not betting your money on them, or taking them in Survivor.
2024 Trap Survivor Pick History (3-7) - Week 1: Buffalo Bills, Week 2: Indianapolis Colts, Week 3: Seattle Seahawks, Week 4: Philadelphia Eagles, Week 5: Chicago Bears, Week 6: Buffalo Bills, Week 7: Cincinnati Bengals, Week 8: New York Jets, Week 9: Baltimore Ravens, Week 10: Philadelphia Eagles
Who I Would Have Taken in Survivor - Detroit Lions
Just take the Detroit Lions this week in Survivor. Excluding Week 12 for the Indianapolis Colts, and week 13 against the Chicago Bears, the Detroit Lions don't have any more weeks to be utilized. The Vikings and Dolphins are intriguing options, but they have plenty of weeks to be used in Survivor. The only other game that is intriguing to take is the Green Bay Packers, as Chicago is a bunch of frauds, and Matt Eberflus needs to be fired. Luckily you can use Green Bay in Week 16, when they face the New Orleans Saints, so they can be saved. Take the Detroit Lions, stay stress-free, survive, and advance.
2024 My Survivor Pick History (5-5) - Week 1: Cincinnati Bengals, Week 2: Los Angeles Chargers, Week 3: Las Vegas Raiders, Week 4: Tennessee Titans, Week 5: New England Patriots, Week 6: Philadelphia Eagles, Week 7: Los Angeles Rams, Week 8: Denver Broncos, Week 9: New Orleans Saints, Week 10: Chicago Bears
