Teams That Could Trade For WR Davante Adams

The Las Vegas Raiders yet again have to deal with a disgruntled player. Wide receiver Davante Adams has requested to be traded from the organization. Nobody should be surprised by this. It's stunning that he wasn't moved last offseason because he was visibly unhappy when Josh McDaniels was the coach.

The only reason why Adams wanted to come to Las Vegas was to play with his college teammate Derek Carr, and that didn't last a year. With Antonio Pierce rubbing Adams the wrong way with his "business decision" comment and liking that Instagram post on Adams trade rumors, the team and Adams will likely part ways via a trade. The question is, What are the top teams that are most likely to acquire him? There are five NFL teams that stand out the most.

New York Jets

This is the team with the highest odds of acquiring Davante Adams. Especially with the close connection Adams has with QB Aaron Rodgers, he would easily be the best receiver on the team.

Adams would also fit like a glove in Nathaniel Hackett's offensive system. With jobs on the line, the Jets will be going all-in, and trading for Adams would help strengthen their chances of making the playoffs. One bit of advice for Joe Douglas: Please attach Hasson Reddick to the deal. It's clear that man wants no part of the team and wants out. What a waste of a third-round pick to acquire that guy.

New Orleans Saints

This one is unlikely due to the insane cap issue the Saints have, but it makes sense as a destination. The only reason Adams wanted to come to Las Vegas was Derek Carr. It didn't pan out thanks to Josh McDaniels's incompetence, who tried to copy the Patriots, which never works unless a team has Tom Brady at quarterback like Tampa did.

If the Saints attach an expensive contract to the deal and a few picks, Adams could reunite with Carr, and they can finally play together. After all, Dennis Allen and Mickey Loomis need to get this team to the playoffs to save his job.

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys could be an interesting destination as Dallas needs another receiver. With Brandon Cooks suffering an injury, the Cowboys could use a replacement. Excluding CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys have mediocre depth at receiver.

Adams could fix more problems and maybe help get fans to stop complaining about Jerry Jones claiming Dallas was going "all in" when he clearly hasn't shown that mentality at all. Heck, Adams could reunite with Mike McCarthy and will know most of the playbook.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers were aiming to get Brandon Aiyuk months ago. However, Aiyukl chose to stay in San Francisco. The Steelers' offense is an absolute mess, and while George Pickens is a solid receiver, he is not a firm number-one receiver.

Thinking about it more, have the Steelers really had a true number-one receiver since Antonio Brown became a trainwreck? Adams can help change that and give Justin Fields or Russell Wilson a dependable option to throw to and maybe fix their offensive problems.

New England Patriots

The Patriots are another intriguing option to acquire Adams. While they are not contenders this year, the Patriots could use Adams to give Drake Maye a weapon to utilize when he plays. Yes, Brissett is the starter, but it's not an if, but when Maye gets the start for the team.

The Patriots receiver core is terrible and they too were trying to get Aiyuk earlier in the season. It's too bad that he refused to play there and signed with Aiyuk. The Patriots have enough cap space to take on Adams's contract so they can afford to make the deal. Can't rule New England out in the potential of acquiring Davante.

Those are the teams that are most likely to acquire Davante Adams via trade? Do you agree? What team did I leave out? What is Adams trade value in your opinion. Let us know in the comment section, don't forget to give the article a like and check out other football content on Stadium Rant.
