Texans Rookie QB Claims Two Coveted Honors While Chasing Third
Rookie quarterback CJ Stroud has been nothing short of sensational in his first year in the league, throwing for 3,266 yards, 19 touchdowns, and only five interceptions. The stats on display rival some of the greatest pure rookie campaigns that the league has ever seen in Cam Newton, Justin Herbert, and Dak Prescott. As the eyes of the league shifted toward Houston and their budding superstar, the accolades began to pour in.

Texans QB Shattering Rookie Records With Ease
While some may argue that the Texans are asking Stroud to do too much too early in his career, it's hard to argue with the results it has created. The Texans are above .500 for the first time since 2019, ending years of losing being the normal on Kirby Street.
In addition to breathing new life into the 713, Stroud also set a rookie record for most consecutive games with 300+ passing yards after four straight games of electrifying performances. With another performance against the Broncos, he would surpass the reigning MVP, Patrick Mahomes, as the youngest player with 300+ yards in five straight games.
Stroud Receives Second Rookie Achievement and NFL Honor
For the month of November, Stroud was awarded his second AFC rookie of the month award. He threw for 1,466 yards, 12 total touchdowns, and had a passer rating of 109.9. Stroud earned the honor back in September as well and was the first Texan in six years to do so. He's now done it twice in the same season.
Those stats are better than multiple veteran quarterbacks in the league, and were also good enough to earn Stroud the AFC Offensive Player of the Month award as well. He is only the fifth player in the history of the NFL to do so, with no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
Texans QB Looks Toward Playoffs and Highest Player Award
While the recent loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars may derail the Texans' chances at the AFC South title, they still find themselves firmly in the wildcard conversation. Additionally, CJ Stroud has garnered some media attention for the MVP discussion, with some analysts insisting that he's already established himself as a top-five quarterback in the NFL.
While multiple weeks remain in the season, Stroud holds a great chance at competing for the accolade. He is on pace for over 5,000 yards, almost 30 touchdowns, and only eight interceptions. While his end-of-season performance remains to be seen, there is no doubt in the minds of NFL fans that Stroud is one-of-one.
