The 2025 United States Ryder Cup Captain Has Been Announced, And It Was A Selection Nobody Saw Coming
The 2023 Ryder Cup was one to forget for the Americans. They went to Rome and were destroyed by the Europeans for most of the weekend, but they fought until the end. Still, they couldn't put it together, and now they will try to get revenge for their loss in September 2025 on American soil at Bethpage Black State Park Golf Course in New York.
One player who was left off the Ryder Cup team last year was Keegan Bradley, who should've been one of the captain's picks, but last year's captain, Zach Johnson, decided he wanted to choose his friends like Justin Thomas, who didn't deserve a sport last season.
Bradley won't have to wait around next year for a phone call to see if he will be on the Ryder Cup team because he will make the selections. After all, he was announced as the 2025 Ryder Cup Captain On Monday.
The captain is responsible for choosing six golfers to make up the team of 12. The first six golfers qualify no matter what with ranking points they get throughout the year for winning and placing high in tournaments, and then anyone outside of the top six can still make the team with a captain pick.
Bradley has about another year and two months before he has to make some tough decisions. Hopefully, the golfers will make it easy on him next year, and America can take back its Ryder Cup trophy and get back to the top like they did when they won on home soil in 2021.
