The Atomic Drop of Lies Told By Hulk Hogan (Part 2)

When many think of the name Hulk Hogan, there are quite a few descriptions for him. The two words I commonly use on Hogan is "Pathological Liar". Hogan has turned lying into an art form with the way he manipulates and tells his story. This is Part 2 of the many lies told by Hulk Hogan. If you want to read Part 1 you can click here. So, lets reflect on more of the biggest lies he's told throughout his career.

11. Hulk Hogan Fought For Pride Fighters???

Hulk Hogan WCW

This is a ridiculous claim that Hogan has been saying for many years now. It started getting attractive in 2011, when Hulk told this story on the Boomer and Carton show. When asked about his interest in MMA, he said that he had experience in 1977, where he had a match in Pride and didn't even know it was a thing.

Here is the problem, Pride started in 1997. That's a 20-year difference then what Hogan claims. The weird part is, Hogan has admitted he first arrived in Japan in 1980, when he signed with New Japan Pro Wrestling. He never was in Japan before that, so he makes no sense.

12. Elvis Presley Was A Hulkamaniac???

Elvis Presley Black & White Photo

Hulk Hogan was an extremely popular professional wrestler. Many celebrities liked him. In his 2010 Hollywood Hulk Hogan autobiography, Hogan made the claim that Elvis Presley was a tremendous fan of his, and would come to Memphis to watch Hulk Hogan wrestle.

Now, it's true that Elvis Presley was a professional wrestling fan, and would attend events from time to time. However, coming just to see Hogan is not even close to being true. Elvis Presley died in August 1977, and Hogan was a rookie who made his debut 11 days after The King died. The funny part is, Hogan didn't even wrestle in Memphis until 1979.

13. Claims Bret Hart Stole A Catchphrase From Him

Bret Hart

One of the most famous catchphrases in wrestling history, is Bret Hart’s "The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be”. It characterized Bret as a confident wrestler, who believed in his abilities, and thought nobody else matched up to him. It was perfect, and could be utilized as a Face or Heel.

Well, according to Hulk Hogan, Bret should thank him for that catchphrase. In an interview with Bubba the Love Sponge, Hogan claimed he used that phrase first, and Hart stole it after hearing a recorded promo in a booth. Down below is what he said word for word.

“I was sitting in the hot box doing an interview and Bret Hart and Owen Hart used to sit there and watch me right, and they come in and watch me and one time I said I’m the greatest there is, was and ever will be, brother! “
"Bret picked it up and ran with it yeah wow so he’s still your gimmick now let me ask you a question he just stole one of my lines and ran with”

The problem was, that it was a phrase first used in the 1984 film, "The Natural". Bret Hart admitted to using the catchphrase from that movie. Hulk is full of it for claiming he created the phrase to begin with.

14. He Batted .714 In The Little League World Series.

Little League World Series

Hulk Hogan wasn't just good as a professional wrestler, but at other sports as well. As a young boy, he had a talent for playing baseball. He was so good, not only did he claim that he played in the Little League World Series, but also got a .714 batting average, which was a world record. It was impressive in his imagination, as the Little League World Series publicly called him out, as there was no record at all of a Terry Bollea ever playing in their world series in their history. That's not the only other lie that Hogan once claimed about baseball.

15. New York Yankees and Cincinnati Reds Once Scouted Him

Randy Savage, Cincinnati Reds Card

That's right, according to Hulk Hogan, he was so impressive in the sport that scouts from the New York Yankees and Cincinnati Reds were scouting him. If that were even close to being true, that would have been boasted about for many years. The Cincinnati Reds did that with the Macho Man Randy Savage, who was scouted and signed by the team. The photo above is Savage as a Red. With the Mega Powers being so huge, they would have heavily told their fans that Hogan was scouted. They haven't, which shows that Hogan yet again is lying.

16. Hogan Claimed He Got a Death Threat 4 Months After Bruiser Brody Died

Bruiser Brody

Hulk Hogan went onto Joe Rogan's Podcast and he talked about the death of Bruiser Brody. He claims that he got a death threat in Puerto Rico, and not 4 months later, Bruiser Brody died. Here is what he said below.

“So I go down to Puerto Rico, and we have the match; we sell out the stadium,” Hogan began, his voice carrying the weight of the memories. “Me and Macho Man go back to the room, and we walk into his room, and it’s trashed. All of a sudden, I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I’m gonna go to my room. When I opened the door, he’s (A Pro Wrestler) sitting there, and because he’s still really active, he’s sitting there with a gun,” Hogan revealed, the gravity of the moment clear in his recounting. “He said, ‘If you ever come back here, I’m gonna kill you.’”

Here is the problem, Hogan's last appearance in Puerto Rico at that time was in 1985. Brody died in 1988. There is no record of him wrestling in Puerto Rico in 1986, 1987, and 1988. Here is another doozy too, Hogan did not wrestle Randy Savage at that show, he wrestled Big John Studd in Puerto Rico.

17. Bruiser Brody Had His Throat Cut

Bruiser Brody

Wait, there's more. Hulk Hogan, on that Joe Rogan Podcast, told a story that Brody had his throat cut, and that's what killed him. The problem was, that Brody did not have his throat cut, and was stabbed in the stomach and liver. Hulk can't even get his facts right, and lies about it in front of one of the top podcasters on the planet. I'm more stunned Rogan didn't call Hogan out on his BS, or look it up on Google

18. Hogan Claims He Was the First to Use Entrance Music

Hulk Hogan Walking To Ring with Cameraman

In 1982 Hulk Hogan was a rising star, and ever since his Rocky 3 appearance, he started coming out to"Eye Of The Tiger". In his autobiography, Hogan claims he was the first person to ever do that in professional wrestling, and revolutionizing it in the business.

Oh, Hulk. What about Gorgeous George? George has often been credited by wrestling historians for using Sir Edward Elgar's "Pomp and Circumstance" music as late as the 1940s and 1950s. What about Mildred Burke? She was the first female to walk out to music in pro wrestling. What about Chris Colt? In the 1970s, who used Alice Cooper's Welcome to My Nightmare? What about Sgt Slaughter? He was the man who first used music on the WWF in 1980, using a marine cop hymn. Hulk yet again continues to prove that he's the master at lying.

19. Hogan Claims He Broke His Ribs At WrestleMania X8

The Rock vs Hulk Hogan WrestleMania X8

One of Hulk Hogan's greatest matches is against The Rock at WrestleMania X8. It was such a fun match, but throughout the match, Hogan was clutching his ribs. According to Hulk in his autobiography, he claimed The Rock broke his ribs mid-match, thanks to a Rock Bottom spot.

Now Hogan was wrestling hurt in that match, but here's the problem. Hogan was full of it, claiming that The Rock injured him. Not long afterward on a podcast/show with Bill Simmons, he admitted that it was Rikishi who broke his ribs at a house show. With how many lies he tells, I'm not even 100% sure if he's truthful in that either.

20. Claims He Almost Killing Antonio Inoki

Antonio Inoki

Before Hulk Hogan was a big star in the WWF, he was a tremendous star in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Hogan in 1983 had a feud with Antonio Inoki, who was the founder of the promotion. Hulk claims that in a match, Inoki he beat him up so badly that he was declared dead, and was brought back to life via CPR. This made the Yakuza very mad, and he claimed he couldn't work in Japan for a few years as a result. The problem is, Hogan returned not 6 months later in Japan, in a tag match with Inoki. Also, there is no evidence that Inoki needed CPR in a match where Inoki was kayfabe knocked out.

The problem with a bulls*** artist is that you don't know when the bulls*** stops and when the truth begins. That is Hulk Hogan every time he opens his mouth. The worst part is, that there are so many more lies that this man has told, that this type of article is going to have more than two parts. To be Continued......
