The Dolphins Need To Worry About These Four Players On Sunday.

It’s no secret that the Dolphins have taken a step back since Tua’s injury. Since week three, they have not scored more than 17 points. They struggled to beat a struggling Steelers team last week. The worst defense in the NFL knocks on their doorstep this week. Can they step up to the challenge?

Detroit’s defense struggles, but their offense still ranks as one of the best in the league, despite their 24-6 loss against the Cowboys. Their abundance at wide receiver makes it difficult to gameplan. D’Andre Swift returns this week, adding elite talent to their deep backfield.

Many say the outcome has already been determined but do not count out a Dan Campbell-led squad. They refuse to quit, including a few elite stars. Here are a few players that the Dolphins and their fans should watch out for this week.

Jared Goff Is Better Than Good; He’s Great.

NFL fans have short-term memory problems. They love hopping on players’ bandwagons, but as soon as the trip hits turbulence, they want out. Sorry to break it to you, but that’s life.

Goff played in a Super Bowl a few seasons ago as captain of that year’s number-one offense. A few poor decisions kept them from cementing their name in glory, but that is not Goff’s fault. He is a good quarterback with solid vision and an even better arm. This season, Goff ranks sixth in passing touchdowns. The offense flows best when he’s slinging the rock, and it helps him that the offensive line is buying time for Goff.

The Dolphins may have a tough time handling him. The defense has allowed the sixth most passing yards and tenth most passing touchdowns. However, with the number of weapons on each side of the line, Goff has every opportunity to bring the Lions a much-needed win.

Josh Reynolds Is The Real Deal.

There is no Jeff Hardy without Matt. There is no Brady without Belichick. There is no production in the Lions’ offense without Josh Reynolds.

Josh Reynolds has played a fantastic role in the Detroit Football Team’s offense. He leads the team in receiving yards (343), second in catches (24), and third in targets (36). However, his transformation into a secret weapon should worry Fins Up Nation.

The Dolphins’ secondary has a lot of heavy hitters in it. Xavien Howard and Byron Jones have been silent over the past few weeks. These stars need to step it up. No interception in the past three weeks? That is not going to win football games.

The Youth Of the Defense Can Hurt The Dolphins.

The Dolphins’ offense relies on tempo. Their RPO playstyle, with speed on the ends, makes it difficult for any opponent.

The Lions’ defense stinks, but its rookie sensation, Aidan Hutchinson, does not. He has played half an NFL season but still finding a way to wreak havoc in the pocket. He strikes fear into the offensive line, coming off the edge with the force of a semi-truck speeding down route 66.

Behind him, Jeff Okudah flies all over the field. Injuries have kept him off the field, but the second-overall pick has made it his mission to silence the doubters in 2022. He continues to make critical tackles along with disrupting the air raid.

Tua is still getting back to form after a hiatus from his concussions and protecting the quarterback will be of premium importance for the Dolphins, not just to win this game, but also to keep Tua healthy. A focus on the running game can help – the Lions have been gashed by almost every running back they’ve faced and with Edmonds and Mostert, they the Dolphins have the core that can cause damage.

Miami must execute a perfect game plan to secure the win this week. The Lions are hungry. You do not want to cross an angry Lion in the jungle. Good luck on Sunday; The Dolphins will need it, but their peak level can win the game if they bring it.
