The Madden 25 Cover Athlete Has Been Revealed
After months of speculation, video game publisher EA Sports has finally revealed the cover athlete for Madden NFL 25. The latest edition of the best-selling football game will hit shelves in August and partner with EA Sports College Football 25 to produce one of the busiest summers in the company's history. This year's Madden NFL 25 cover athlete is San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey.
Christian McCaffrey will dawn the Madden cover for the first time in his career. He will follow in the footsteps of the previous cover athletes in Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, the late John Madden, retired Tom Brady, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and Baltimore Ravens quarterback reigning NFL Most Valuable Player Lamar Jackson.
Christian McCaffrey Is Now The Face Of Madden NFL 25
This will be the first time a non-quarterback NFL player will be featured on the Madden cover since Antonio Brown in Madden NFL 19. McCaffrey is the first running back to grace the cover since Barry Sanders in *Madden NFL 25 (2014).
*Madden NFL 25 (2013) was named to celebrate Madden's 25th anniversary.
Christian McCaffrey has taken the NFL by storm since he was drafted in the 2017 NFL Draft. Regarded as the best running back in the league, he led the 49ers to the Super Bowl in February after being traded to San Francisco the previous season. He also had an MVP-caliber season in 2023 but lost to Lamar Jackson.
Madden NFL 25 will be released worldwide on August 16th, 2024, on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, with early access on August 13th for MVP Edition buyers. It will follow the release of EA Sports College Football 25 on July 19th, making its game-changing return this summer for the first time in over a decade. The last installment in the series was NCAA 14 back in 2013.
