The New Generation NBA Players Are Going To Change The Game

A new generation of NBA players is already here and they are ready to make their marks. Basketball stars like Chris Paul, Stephen Curry, and LeBron James are on the verge of retirement due to various injuries throughout their careers in the NBA which is opening the spotlight for a new era of talent. Younger NBA players such as John Morant and Donovan Mitchell are already breaking records in the NBA and outperforming their predecessors.

The New NBA Players Play Differently

When the NBA was starting to become a popular sport in the 80s, foul plays weren't tolerated like they are today. The legendary players who played basketball in the 80s relied on their quick movements and teammates to help them make it to the top.

Older NBA players were passionate about basketball and they weren't fixated on winning or being famous. Role models like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant had a strong mentality that helped them endure any challenges that came their way and were willing to shake the hands of their rivals if they lost.

The next wave of NBA players have a reputation for making illegal plays. Jaren Jackson is one of the next-generation basketball players who had the most fowls in 2024 averaging at 3.56 fowls per game in 66 games. Jaren Jackson also holds the most fowls in 2023 with an average of 3.6 fowls per game.

It's becoming more common to see someone make an illegal play and not be penalized for it which is why the next generation of NBA players are going to push the boundaries of the rules. The next generation of basketball players could take the basketball and run with it and score.

Since the NBA has been more lenient with illegal plays, we are going to see a lot of newer basketball players use that to their advantage to make up for their flaws.

With Every New Generation Comes a Newer Perspective

The mindset of the next generation of basketball players is completely different from their predecessors. You would never hear about a basketball player in the '80s or '90s who went to the club and got wasted the night before a basketball game started because it would have a negative impact on their performance.

Many of the younger basketball players will go to the club and get wasted the night before their game starts. Consequently, a lot of younger NBA players have sleep deprivation. We are going to see a drastic decline in the overall performance of the next generation of basketball players and more injuries.

Even though the next generation of NBA basketball stars perform and think completely differently, they are outperforming some of their predecessors.
