The New York Yankees Are Idiots And Need To Figure It Out.

The most storied franchise in arguably all of sports. 27 titles, pinstripes nearly as iconic as the flag, and a list of hall of famers so long it feels like it makes up half of Cooperstown.

All of this, for you to end up as last in your division with the second highest payroll in the MLB currently. This is frankly absurd, and I have no idea how Joe Torre hasn't rolled out of his grave to slap every single head out of the front office yet.

What Has New York Done That Is So Wrong? Every Team Is Bad Every Once In A While

You're right, every team is bad every once in a while. But that "while" isn't when you're paying your roster 276 million dollars. Not when you have the MVP from last season, and a Cy-Young caliber pitcher in Gerrit Cole, having an incredible season.

You can make the excuse it's because of the insanely tough division, but when you are 7 games below .500 in division, and still last in your division, it means you can't beat the other teams.

You could also say, maybe the other teams in our division are also spending money, and sure, they might be, but none of them are within 75 million of the Yankees. The talent you have, the opportunities, and the abilities you have are being squandered and wasted.

This is not a young team that can afford to wait. The Yankees are a team who needs to win now, even the Astros window is a lot wider. The Yankees team is a lot older and it is clear it will close sooner rather than later.

What Needs To Change?

I'm glad you asked, fire everyone. Aaron Boone has been a moron simply for too long in that dugout, and has costed the Yankees playoff series, after playoff series, after playoff series.

While he has had to deal with two separate teams that have chased their way to titles, the idiocy is still clear and needs to be dealt with. On that note, Brian Cashman is leaving too. The Yankees needed to pick a direction today (written on the day of the trade deadline), and he did not.

Cashman went and traded for two subpar bullpen arms for seemingly no reason. Every other team made the trades they needed. Even the cross-town rival Mets dealt their aging stars for top tier prospects.

This Yankees team can not win right now. Who know what it is, but whatever it is, it's stopping this team from getting hot and getting healthy. I think the Yankees needed to and still need to sell.

Anthony Rizzo has value, is older, and could have been a nice lefty bat to a true contender. Nasty Nestor Cortes Jr. could have been dealt, no need in stacking up as you'll have to pay him soon and you aren't doing anything.

The Yankees Better Hope Luck Is On Their Side

Despite all of this, the Yankees still have one of the most talented rosters in the MLB. It is also one that has been riddled with injuries. With Rodon, Josh Donaldson, Joe Trevino, and even Nestor Cortes (Who I just recommended trading) it is near impossible to really get going. You lose two gold glovers and two aces for your rotation.

Regardless of this however, it is clear that Cashman and Boone's time in New York is up, and if Mr. Steinbrenner ever wants to win another ring again, it better happen soon.

Otherwise, trade Judge, and blow up the entire team at this point. Neither of those guys should be involved in running this team anymore. The only explanation is that Boone is blackmailing Steinbrenner or something else stupid. There s just no way he should still be managing the Yankees after this season.
