The NFL Just Made A Big Rule Change For The Playoffs

Over the years, there have been many rule changes that the NFL has introduced. It was not that long ago that the league had expanded its postseason from 12 to 14 teams. This added another playoff seed to each conference, eliminating the second seed from receiving a bye week. Thus creating, “Super Wildcard Weekend.”

Now the NFL has made a change to the postseason that many fans and teams will approve. The league will now allow two players who were placed on Injured Reserve during the regular season to be eligible to play in the postseason. This move will help out teams like the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers, who have in the past have had banged-up teams by the time playoffs started.

The NFL Has Made A Change To Its Injured Reserve Rules

As usual, the league still allows for eight players to come off I.R. during the regular season, and with an additional two before the playoffs, teams can activate ten players now. This will help limit some tough decisions and allow both players to be eligible to play instead of just one. While it is a minor rule, it could end up saving one team’s season in the end.

Do you agree with this new rule or should the NFL have left it alone? Also, do you think that the NFL should not have a limit on how many players come off IR in one season? I think there should be no limit at all.
