The Ohio State Football Team Will Be Getting Out Their Baseball Bats This Season
Ohio State is not known for its baseball program, so it made the football team do dirty work. The football team better know how to hit a fastball and throw a sinker because they will need that on November 16th when they take on Northwestern at Wrigley Field.
Maybe Ohio State's football team won't need their baseball bats, but they will play football at a baseball stadium this season.
Northwestern's football team will find a handful of new places to play this upcoming season since their official home, Ryan Field, is starting to be torn down.
Northwestern will be getting a new football facility and stadium, but it isn't expected to open until 2026, so the Wildcats will need to find different venues to play in since they don't have a permanent home.
Matthew Shelton and Louie Vaccher from WildCatReport stated that the Wildcats are set to host the Buckeyes this season at Wrigley Field.
Wrigley Field opened in 1914 and is the second current ballpark in the MLB,right behind Fenway Park, which opened in 1912.
Wrigley Field is no stranger to football games since they have hosted Northwestern and other college football games before, and that's where the Chicago Bears played for 51 seasons.
Wrigley Field, known for its green ivory covered all over the outfield walls, will closely examine one of the best teams in college football this season.
It will be exciting to see Ohio State play football on a baseball field, and I would've never thought that would happen in a million years.
