The Top SEC Quarterback Prospects For The 2025 NFL Draft

College football is right around the corner, and many fans will be watching to see the great games. Still, some fans who love watching football more on Sundays might be tuning into games on Saturday to see which quarterbacks could be their new signal caller in 2025 for their favorite NFL team. Tuning into SEC games will be a good start for those fans since they have the country's best quarterbacks. Phil Steele ranked his 25 quarterback prospects for 2025, and here are the ones from the SEC.

8. Brock Vandagriff-Kentucky (25th Overall)

Brock Vandagriff-Kentucky

Brock Vandagriff sat behind Georgia star quarterback Carson Beck all last season. Instead of trying to compete with Beck again for the starting job, which would be hard for him since Beck is the best quarterback in college football, he decided to transfer to Kentucky, an excellent place. The Wildcats need a quarterback, and 247sports ranked Vandagriff as the fifth-best quarterback in the transfer portal this season. Vandagriff has only attempted 21 passing attempts in three years, so we have yet to determine what we will get with him this year. Steele has him as the 25th overall and 8th SEC quarterback prospect.

7. Garrett Nussmeier-LSU, (24th Overall)

Garrett Nussmeier-LSU

Garrett Nussmeier is a little bit of an unknown. He had to wait his turn as a starter sitting behind Jayden Daniels, the best quarterback in college football last year, bringing home the Heisman Trophy, and now Nussmeier will try to follow in his footsteps. We will have to see how Nussmeier plays this season, and let's see if he can put his name in the 2025 NFL Draft.

6. Graham Mertz-Florida (17th Overall)

Graham Mertz- Florida

Graham Mertz popped on the scene at Wisconsin in 2020 as a redshirt freshman and looked like he could take over college football, but after struggling in 2021 and 2022, he left for Florida in 2023, where he had 2,903 yards and 20 touchdowns and only three interceptions. The Gators didn't win many football games last year, and now the head coach, Billy Napier, is on the hot seat entering year three with the program. Mertz is trying to save his coach's job and improve his draft stock.

5. Conner Weigman-Texas A&M (7th Overall)

Conner Weigman-Texas A&M

Conner Weigman and Texas A&M have a significant coming season. The Aggies have a new head coach, Mike Elko, and their biggest rival, Texas, is coming to town to join the SEC, so there is a lot of pressure on this team to win this season, and Weigman has to carry the load being the quarterback. If Weigman can carry the Aggies to new heights, that could help his draft stock this year.

4. Quinn Ewers-Texas (6th Overall)

Quinn Ewers-Texas

Quinn Ewers shockingly went back to Texas this season, even with Arch Manning as his backup, who could take his job sometime during the season. Ewers was considered a first-round pick last season, but his draft stock slid a little, and now he will have to try to fight off Manning. If he gets replaced, he could fall in this year's draft.

3. Jalen Milroe-Alabama (5th Overall)

Jalen Milroe-Alabama

Jalen Milroe has a chance to take a giant leap this season with new head coach Kalen DeBoer, who was able to take Michael Penix Jr. last season and make him a Top 10 pick. Milroe is a great athlete, and when the ball is in his hands, he is very dangerous with his legs and has a powerful arm, so he has a lot of tools that DeBoer can work with, and knowing how well he works with quarterbacks, there is an excellent chance Milroe will break out this season and be a first-round pick next April.

2. Jaxson Dart-Ole Miss (2nd Overall)

Jaxson Dart-Ole Miss

Jaxson Dart is ready to take Ole Miss to the college football playoffs. After throwing for 23 scores and five interceptions last season, Dart will try to take off and rise draft boards like LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels did last season. Dart could hear his name called for the Heisman Trophy this season.

Carson Beck- Georgia

Carson Beck waited a long time to start for the Bulldogs, and last season was worth the wait because he threw for almost 4,000 yards and 24 touchdowns. If he has another season like he did in 2023, it will be hard for him not to be the first quarterback taken next year .
