These Five NASCAR Drivers Are The Favorites To Win In Sonoma
The NASCAR Cup Series shifts to Sonoma, California, this week as they prepare to run 110 laps and 219 miles. This is the 34th time the premier NASCAR series will race at Sonoma Raceway. So, who is the favorite to win the second road course race of the year? Here are the five betting favorites to visit victory lane this Sunday.
5) Ty Gibbs +800
21-year-old Ty Gibbs is still looking for his first NASCAR Cup Series victory. He's near the front of the pack and has led several laps over the past couple of races, and the 54 team will look to build on that this weekend in Sonoma. Gibbs' four top-fives, eight top-tens, and two-stage wins have him in seventh place in the Cup Series Standings. If the 54-car runs as it has lately, Gibbs is excellent value at +800 to win the race.
4) Kyle Larson +750
The drama is over. Kyle Larson has received his waiver from NASCAR, allowing him to remain in the playoff race despite missing the Coca-Cola 600 due to running the Indy 500. Larson is second in Cup Series points with 513, only 21 points behind leader Denny Hamlin. The veteran has succeeded at Sonoma, winning this race back in 2021 and finishing in the top ten last season.
3) Christopher Bell +750
Christopher Bell had arguably the best car last weekend at World Wide Technology Raceway, but he ran into trouble while battling for the race lead and had to settle for a seventh-place finish. Bell ran well at Sonoma last year, finishing top-ten in the first two stages and ninth in the race. The 29-year-old is looking for his third win of the 2024 season.
2) William Byron +750
William Byron won the first road race of the year in March and has finished in the top three in the last three road courses. Byron finished 14th at Sonoma last season, with a career-best finish of ninth at this track. The North Carolina native is looking for his fourth trip to victory lane this season.
1) Martin Truex Jr. +550
The favorite to win the Toyota / Save Mart 350 is the same guy who won at this track last season. Martin Truex Jr. has had an okay 2024 season, with four top-five finishes, seven top-ten outings, and two stage wins. He currently sits fourth in the Cup Series standings, but he would love to get a win and secure his spot in the NASCAR playoffs. At +550, he is the odds-on favorite to win this weekend at Sonoma.
