This NFL Team Is A LOCK To Win Week 2

The Los Angeles Chargers started off the season with a huge win over divisional rival Las Vegas Raiders. Now they will head to Charlotte for a battle with the Carolina Panthers. With battles against Pittsburgh and Kansas City after this week, this game is a must-win for LA. Here are three reasons why the Chargers have the best chance to start 2-0 this week!

Chargers Run Game Should Repeat Success

One of the biggest reasons that Los Angeles won last week was the dominance on the ground. It was expected that LA would focus on the run after losing top weapons Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. In his LA debut, J.K. Dobbins rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown on only 10 carries. He should see more volume against a Panthers team that allowed over 170 rushing yards last week to the Saints.

The Panthers Offense Will Struggle Again

A big reason that the Panthers lost by 37 points last week was due to their struggling offense. Carolina’s had no success on the ground and 2023 first-overall pick Bryce Young was held under 200 yards and threw two interceptions. He was also sacked four times. This should motivate a fired-up Chargers defense that looked more comfortable under coach Jim Harbaugh than the previous few years under Brandon Staley.

Justin Herbert Will Put Up Successful Numbers

The most important player on the Chargers is Justin Herbert. It’s been a rough few seasons for him as poor coaching, injuries, and drops have held him from having an MVP-type season like he did in 2021, where he threw for 5,000 yards and 38 touchdowns. The former Oregon Duck gets to play a Panthers defense that allowed 47 points last week and three touchdowns for Saints quarterback Derek Carr. It will be a great week for Justin Herbert.
