This Former Jets Player Won't Sign With Them In Free Agency
Three-time Super Bowl Champion wide receiver Mecole Hardman will be entering free agency this season, and he won't be heading to the Big Apple well, at least the Jets side of the locker room.
Hardman was on NFL Network's Total Access this week. Host Andrew Siciliano asked Hardman if he would be around for the three-peat in Kansas City next year since he will be heading into free agency. Then Siciliano asked if he would return to the Jets, and Hardman turned that idea down quickly.
Hardman signed with the Jets last season, played in five games for the team, and had one reception before being traded back to the Chiefs in the middle of the season.
Hardman was supposed to play with Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but a season-ending injury in Week One to Rodgers threw those plans down the toilet. Hence, it wasn't the best experience for Hardman to go from Patrick Mahomes to Zach Wilson.
Hardman is the hero of Super Bowl LVIII, catching the game-winning touchdown pass in overtime to give the Chiefs a Super Bowl win and their third title since 2019.
I'm sure Hardman not wanting to come back to the Jets won't hurt too many Jets fan's feelings since he's not exactly one of the best receivers in the league and a third or fourth option at best.
The Jets need to add another wide receiver to help Rodgers out, and we will have to wait and see if they will do it in free agency or using their first-round pick in this year's NFL Draft.
