This Super Bowl Champion Is Drawing Lots Of Interest In Free Agency

Odell Beckham Jr as had an interesting career over the last few years. After clearly not working out with Baker Mayfield and the Browns, Beckham was cut. Beckham signed with the Los Angeles Rams and contributed to a Super Bowl win. During the Super Bowl, Beckham suffered a torn ACL, keeping him out for the 2022 season. Heading into the 2023 season, Beckham is receiving interest from numerous teams for his services.

During the 2022 season, Odell Beckham Jr was rumored to join the Cowboys, but the star didn’t join Dallas. Odell did not seem to be fully healthy and ultimately missed the entire season. A few days before Free Agency, Odell Beckham Jr hosted a workout that 14 teams attended. The star is drawing interest for his services, and there are a few teams that are an ideal fit for Beckham.

Super Bowl Contenders

While many Super Bowl contenders need another receiver, there is also a contingency Beckham will need a team that gives him a lot of opportunities rather than being buried on the depth chart. Beckham’s ideal role would be as the number two receiver on a contender.

The highest amount of yards Beckham received in the past three seasons is 319, as he was dealing with injuries. However, he still has lots of upsides. A few teams that would be good fits are the Chiefs, Cowboys, Vikings, and Patriots.

The Chiefs are the Super Bowl champions of 2022, and they still have a glaring need at receiver. Juju Smith Shuster is a free agent after this year, and the Chiefs will likely depart with Mecole Hardman. As a result, Odell Beckham Jr would become the number one receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs and have the opportunity to compete for the Super Bowl. Playing with Mahomes would be a great way to resurrect his career, and he won’t face most of the defensive attention as he plays with Travis Kelce.

Playoff Teams

Similarly, the Cowboys are in a weak NFC conference, with a roster ready to win right now. Dak Prescott is an above-average quarterback, and the Cowboys have a glaring need for a receiver two spot. Playing with Ceedee Lamb will give Beckham less defensive attention and allow him to play in a large market.

The Vikings recently cut Adam Thielen, and they are in the market for another receiver. Odell would play alongside Justin Jefferson, have the opportunity to be a playoff team in the weak NFC, and get plenty of opportunity with an underrated quarterback in Kirk Cousins. Odell would also give Kirk Cousins more talent to throw to, as Kirk isn’t a quarterback who can elevate offenses himself like other stars.

Lastly, the Patriots. The Patriots likely aren’t the most likely team that signs Beckham, but there is a possibility, given the mutual respect between Bill Belichick and Odell Beckham Jr. Beckham revealed he was close to signing with the Patriots in the 2021 season. Mac Jones will likely develop more in 2023, and Beckham will have a featured role.

Overall, Beckham is likely a receiver that can receive around 600-900 yards if he stays healthy. Beckham has had over 1,000 yards receiving in five seasons and is an experienced veteran. Numerous teams need a receiver two and are ready to compete, and Odell will be a great contributor to groups trying to get over the hump and win a Super Bowl.
