This Timberwolves Star Is Nearing His Return
Karl-Anthony Towns is expected to make his return this week. The 28-year-old suffered a Lateral Meniscus Tear in his left knee during the March 12th game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
After a month on the sidelines, the four-time All-Star is "on track" to return Friday night, when the Timberwolves host the Atlanta Falcons, as reported by Shams Charania.
Towns' Season Thus Far
Towns has averaged 22.1 points, 8.4 rebounds and three assists through 60 games played this season. He's also played the second-lowest minutes per game of his career averaging 32.8 per game.
KAT has had five games where he's scored 30 points or more, including the thrilling 62-point performance back in January. He's been a key part of the Wolves success this season, and will be welcomed back with open arms as the team preps for the NBA Playoffs.
Looking Ahead For The Timberwolves
The Wolves are still in contention for the top seed in the Western Conference, even after a loss to the Denver Nuggets earlier this week.
We know Minnesota won't be playing the Nuggets, Thunder, or the Clippers in the first round, but outside of that, the possibility of them playing either the Mavericks, Pelicans, Suns, Kings, Lakers or Warriors exists. The NBA Playoffs start on April 20th.
