Three Bold Predictions For Vikings Vs. Jaguars

The Minnesota Vikings improved to 6-2 with a win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night. Quarterback Sam Darnold completed 28-of-34 passes for 290 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. Tight end T.J. Hockenson also returned to the lineup with three catches and 27 yards.

Minnesota will turn their attention to Jacksonville, as they hope to improve to 7-2. Here are three bold predictions for Vikings vs. Jaguars.

3) Vikings Defense Returns To Form

After a couple of difficult weeks against the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams, the Vikings defense looked like themselves against the Colts. The Brian Flores-led unit recorded three sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception.

I expect Minnesota to continue to have success on the defensive side of the ball this weekend. Trevor Lawrence has been sacked 18 times this season, and the Jaguars offense has struggled at times throughout the first nine games. Expect the Vikings defense to get a lot of pressure on the former first overall pick, and force a turnover or two.

2) Aaron Jones Scores Two Rushing TDs

Aaron Jones has been a welcome addition to a Vikings offense that had struggled to run the ball since the departure of Dalvin Cook. Jones is averaging over 70 yards per game and has four games with more than 90 rush yards.

While the yardage has been there, the touchdowns haven't. The 29-year-old has three touchdowns on the year, and only two rushing scores. His last TD came in week seven against the Detroit Lions.

My prediction for this weekend; Aaron Jones will find the endzone twice in Jacksonville and he'll have over 100 yards.

1) Jordan Addison Leads The Way

Jordan Addison posted 'Free 3' to his Instagram story late last month, leading some to question wether he was unhappy with the way the Vikings offense was opperating. Although Addison said it was much to do about nothing, it feels like Minnesota would like to feature him more.

The second-year reciever caught all five passes thrown his way last Sunday for 42 yards and a touchdown. Don't be surprised if Darnold is looking Addison's way again in week 10. I predict he'll have five catches for more than 80 yards and a score.

Vikings Vs. Jaguars Final Thoughts

The Vikings need to keep pace with the Lions if they have any hope of winning the NFC North, and that means they need to handle buisness against the Jags. One storyline to watch this week is the health of kicker Will Reichard. The rookie kicker missed two field goals on Sunday night and is dealing with a quad injury.

Minnesota is a four-point favorite in the matchup, with the game total set at 46.0.
