Three Breakout Players For The Chicago Bears In 2024

The Chicago Bears have been the subject of massive amounts of attention this offseason. From trading Justin Fields, drafting Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze, and being the team picked for "Hard Knocks", the Bears have a lot of eyes on them this upcoming season. The big names on the team have received a significant amount of attention, but there are some names that are not getting enough, and could potentially have breakout years.

Gervon Dexter Sr.

Dexter is entering his second year in the league but has already made an impact on the Bears defense. The Bears' second-round pick from 2023 had a solid start to his career with 20 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and 12 QB hits. With a full offseason under his belt, he should be able to take that next step and become a more dominating presence on the defensive line. It wouldn't be surprising if he was a pro-bowler or even an All-Pro selection after the season.

Tyler Scott

This one will be a surprise to people. Scott is also entering his second year in the league after being drafted in the 4th round in 2023. The University of Cincinnati product only had 17 receptions and 168 receiving yards in 2023, and he was also the guy returning punts last year. As the 3rd option for a poor offense with few weapons, it was hard for him to make an impact last season. This year, he'll be the fourth option in a stacked receiving room, leaving him with opportunities for big plays. Scott has speed and has shown flashes last year when he can make tough plays. It's not fair to expect 1000 yards and 9 touchdowns, but somewhere between 500-700 yards and around 5 touchdowns would be awesome.

Tory Taylor

As a University of Iowa punter, Taylor had lots of practice punting. The Bears drafted him in the 4th round in 2024. He won the Ray Guy Award in 2023, an award given to the best punter in college football. He averaged 40 yards or more in 43 career games, which is also a NCAA record. The Aussie has a strong leg, and he can make a significant impact immediately for the Special Teams unit on the Bears. Don't be surprised if he's on the All-Rookie team at the end of the season.
