Three Jets That Have Shined Great During OTAs

During this time of year, Jets fans can't wait to see the newest members of their team in action for the very first time. While the offseason, for the most part, is meant to be taken with a grain of salt.

It's always fun to comment and speculate on the expectations of some players and the team. With that being said, here are a few Jets that have shined during the team's OTAs this spring:

Garrett Wilson, Wide Reciever

The 10th-overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft had himself quite the rookie season last year, putting up a stat line of 83 receptions, 1,103 yards, and four touchdowns. Wilson also went on to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

"He's having a really good OTA. He's a juicy route runner, he's gotten a lot stronger, and his mental makeup, his internal drive, is second to none. I'm excited for him this year." Jets HC Robert Saleh on WR Garrett Wilson

The second-year wideout seems to pick up right where he left off by demonstrating his skillset during these off-season practices. Wilson accomplished a lot last year despite the Jets' poor quarterback play, so I'm sure he's just as excited as the fanbase to catch passes from a four-time NFL MVP.

Jeremy Ruckert, Tight End

The Long Island native was another Jets' 2022 draft class member, who unfortunately had somewhat of a non-existent rookie season last year due to a persistent foot injury.

Despite still being the third-string TE on the depth chart, Ruckert has begun his sophomore season on a high note with his performance during OTAs.

"He looks awesome. He's hungry. He looks like a guy on a mission. I'm not worried about him in pads, he's got a nasty streak to him. I'm excited about him and the direction he's going." Jets HC Robert Saleh on TE Jeremy Ruckert

With Tyler Conklin and C.J. Uzomah not stealing the show last year either, it's not out of the question that Ruckert could work himself up the depth chart this season if his play warrants that much.

Aaron Rodgers, Quarterback

After usually skipping out on OTAs in Green Bay, Rodgers has attended all ten of the Jets' OTA practices held in Florham Park, New Jersey. Even though he sat out a few days while dealing with a calf injury, the Jets' new quarterback was still in attendance at the team's facility.

Ever since the Jets traded for the future Hall of Famer, there has been nothing but positive vibes surrounding New York's new quarterback. When Rodgers arrived, he began taking in all New York had to offer.

Along with his new teammates, Rodgers has attended significant events such as a few Rangers and Knicks playoff games and, most recently, a Taylor Swift concert at MetLife Stadium.

I think it's also worth noting that Rodgers has been all smiles since he arrived and seemed to be genuinely enjoying his time with the Jets. It's still a little shocking to believe that a player of his caliber chose the Jets as a destination to continue his career in pursuit of winning another Super Bowl. Rodgers seems as motivated as ever, and we'll see if that can translate into something that Jets fans have not seen.
