Three Predictions For Vikings Vs. Bears In Week 12

The Minnesota Vikings improved to 8-2 with a win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday afternoon. Despite being tied for the league’s third-best record, the team sits second in the NFC North behind the red-hot Detroit Lions.

With Tennessee in the rearview, it’s time to turn our attention to the Week 12 game against Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears. Here are three predictions for the 127th meeting between these two clubs.

3) Williams Struggles Against The Vikings Defense

The numbers aren’t great for Caleb Williams through the first ten games of his NFL career. He’s completing 61.8% of his passes for 2,016 yards, nine touchdowns and five interceptions. The first-overall draft pick has added another 306 yards rushing.

Meanwhile, the Vikings’ defense has been one of the league’s best, holding their opponents to under 20 points in seven of their ten outings. Brian Flores will throw everything he has at the rookie QB, and if the blitz gets home, it will be a long afternoon for the Chicago Bears and their fans.

2) Justin Jefferson Scores A Touchdown

Justin Jefferson is having another stellar season for the Vikings. The former LSU Tiger has recorded 59 catches for 912 yards. The one thing that’s been hard to come by this year for Jefferson is the touchdown grabs. This can be expected considering the amount of attention opposing defenses give to the three-time Pro-Bowler.

Jefferson’s last touchdown grab came in week six when the Vikings lost to the Detroit Lions. It feels like JJ is due for a big afternoon; I predict he will have over 100 yards and score a touchdown this weekend in Chicago.

1) The Vikings Win, But It’s Close

It doesn’t matter what the records are; divisional games can get weird, and I expect nothing less in Week 12. The two split the season series last year. Minnesota won the first game 19-13, with the Bears winning the most recent matchup 12-10. A lot has changed since that game. Both teams have a new starting quarterback, and added solid players in free agency.

This game won’t be a blowout, and Chicago will keep it close throughout. Don’t be surprised if Minnesota wins on a last-second field goal, thanks to Parker Romo.
