Predicting The Top 10 Teams In EA Sports College Football 25

The rankings haven't officially been released at the time of writing, but they will be released this Friday, June 28th. I might as well share my speculations and see how accurate they are.

10. Notre Dame

Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame

Notre Dame gives me Tampa Bay Buccaneers vibes—severely underrated to the naked eye. But if you know how to use them, magic can happen. Running behind this line will be like taking candy from a baby, as long as the wear and tear ability doesn't mess you up.

9. Colorado

Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter

Colorado is a one-trick pony, just like the Houston Texans. Their best player has to play on both sides of the ball, which can be exciting because he will be overpowered. If used right with the transfer in the running game, I think we have an elite offense.

8. Penn State

Drew Allar and company

Penn State should easily be a top-ten EA Sports College Football 25 team. They have a solid quarterback, a nice wide receiver room, and a stacked defense that should be similar to Clemson's defense overall. My Madden comparison for Penn State is the Detroit Lions.

7. Clemson

Cade Klubnik and Phil Mafah

Based on their performance in the bowl game, Clemson seems to be transitioning to a run-first team. They have skilled receivers who have been sidelined due to injuries. It's worth noting that Clemson has an overall rating of 95 and a defensive rating of 98. They might become a team to watch out for if they can improve their offensive performance. I see similarities between this Clemson team and the Cleveland Browns in Madden.

6. Texas

Quinn Ewers

Texas retained starting quarterback Quinn Ewers, and he will probably be overpowered due to him being on the cover. I imagine him having a lightning-quick release and a nice speed to get around the outside for a first down. He'll be accompanied by Isaiah Bond at wide receiver, and if the transfers work out, they should have a stellar defense. I compare this Texas team to the Philadelphia Eagles in Madden.

5. Ole Miss

Jaxson Dart and Lane Kiffin

Ole Miss doesn't have to get over a hump to be great in a video game. The Ole Miss offense will be strong with the returning receiving corps, and if the transfer players perform well, the defense will also be solid. I would compare this team to the Miami Dolphins in Madden, considering their speed, and if you have ever played with the Dolphins, you'd know their speed is like a cheat code.

4. Oregon

Dillon Gabriel

I believe the Oregon Ducks will be the most underrated team in this game and possibly this season. They have a transfer quarterback, Dillon Gabriel, who had an exceptional year last year at Oklahoma and should be even better at Oregon. The defense is solid, and they have a high-powered offense led by Dillon Gabriel. With that being said, my comparison for them in Madden would be the Kansas City Chiefs.

3. Georgia

Carson Beck

Some people say Georgia will be the best team to play with, but I disagree. Although the defense will be the best in the game, if Carson Beck is slow, I just don't see how far you can get offensively with the Dawgs' lackluster receiving corps. That being said, defensively, I think they'll compare to the Eagles, but overall, in my opinion, this Georgia team compares to the Buffalo Bills in Madden.

2. Alabama

Jalen Milroe and Kalen Deboer

There is no Nick Saban this year, but that won't matter in a video game. Depending on his throwing release, you likely have the fastest and best overall quarterback in the game. You'll also have decent defensive backs and probably the third overall defense. You're going to throw the ball or scramble, and you can do that at an extremely high rate without letting the "Wear and Tear" ability take control. My Madden comparison would be the Baltimore Ravens.

1. Ohio State

Emuka Egbuka and Julian Fleming

Perhaps this is the most talented Ohio State team ever. With all the NIL deals and money being invested, there's bound to be a lot of talent. And with talent comes the potential for great teams in a video game. The team boasts two standout running backs and a stacked wide receiver room, reminiscent of the Miami Dolphins' wide receiver group in Madden, where speed is critical to winning and beating corners when running routes. They will probably have the best defense in the game, so watch out for the Buckeyes. My Madden comparison is the San Francisco 49ers.

Madden 25 Team Rankings: Final Thoughts

College Football 25 Deluxe Edition

I left out some teams like Michigan, LSU, and Florida State because they didn't excite me for this video game after the turnover they had. I'm sure they'll be solid, but not top-ten material for me.
