Top 10 Texans Players Entering 2024 Season

The Texans are a quickly ascending team in the NFL, with splashy rookies driving their impressive 2023 outing. As we near the 2024 season, let's dive into who the top ten players are.

10. Tytus Howard

Tytus Howard is a guy you just want to cheer for. He's worked hard to be a contributing member of this team and always answers the call to move wherever he is needed on the line. That being said, let's hope the health of the left guard spot is improved this year and Tytus can anchor at the right tackle position, where he belongs.

9. Shaq Mason

Shaq Mason reunited with Nick Caserio via trade at the beginning of the 2023 season. He was a staple of the offensive line last year and one of the few permanent fixtures in a rotating lineup. While not the highest ceiling player on the team, Mason is consistent and willing to fight in the trenches until he hears the whistle.

8. Tank Dell

Tank Dell fell to the third round in last year's draft and was handpicked by CJ Stroud to be his brother-in-arms during their rookie debut. Dell quickly established himself as a nuanced route runner and deep threat that Stroud could take full advantage of. While his 2023 season was cut short due to injury, his 2024 campaign should establish him squarely near the top of the Texans hierarchy.

7. Will Anderson Jr.

The reigning defensive rookie of the year will be surprisingly low on this list to some, but I think it's a testament to Will that he's this high just one year in. He plays the run with intentionality and ferocity and is a leader in the Texans' locker room. Couple that with seven sacks and ten tackles for loss last season, and it's apparent that he won't stay this low much longer.

6. Derek Stingley Jr.

Derek Stingley has lived in the shadow of lockdown corner, Sauce Gardner since he was drafted third overall by the Texans. Don't let that game of comparison distract you from the fact that he's developing into a premier corner in the league and is able to take away any team's number-one receiver as needed.

5. Nico Collins

Nico Collins had the definition of a break-out season in 2023, finishing top-10 in receiving yards, yards after catch, touchdowns, and big plays. He earned a hefty contract extension from the Texans just a few weeks ago, and he's set to be a big part of the 2024 campaign.

4. CJ Stroud

Some will see this as far too high entering year two, while others will be shocked at how low it is. Throwing for over 4,100 yards, 23 touchdowns, and only 5 interceptions, with a passer rating of 100.8 lands Stroud solidly as one of the best players on this roster. With another elite performance, he could find himself in the number-one spot next year.

3. Danielle Hunter

Danielle Hunter, a new addition to the Texans, has had an incredibly productive career. With five seasons of double-sacks, four pro bowls, and a second-team all-pro, Hunter should find even more success moving forward in Demeco Ryan's scheme.

2. Stefon Diggs

While he may have lost a step at the end of last year, Diggs is still an elite player in the league. Boasting six consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, a first-team all-pro, second-team all-pro, four pro bowls, and leading the league in receptions in 2020, Diggs brings an elite body of work to the Texans.

Laremy Tunsil is the definition of elite talent and has been one of the most dominant left tackles in the league for years. He boasts four pro bowls and is almost a consensus top-100 player in the NFL, being named to PFF's "50 Best NFL Players" list last year.
