Top Five Uniforms In The NFL
The National Football League has seen many iconic uniforms over the years. From the Philadelphia Eagles fan-favorite Kelly Green jerseys to New England's Pat the Patriot throwbacks, there have been plenty of impressive fashion statements around the league. But which team has the best uniform set in the NFL? Here are the top five teams with the best wardrobe entering the 2024 season.
HM: Las Vegas Raiders, Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals, Philadelphia Eagles
#5 Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns are widely known for being one of the only professional sports teams to use brown as the main color, making them unique. A few years ago, this squad had one of the worst sets in the league. Following their 2020 redesign, which modernized their pre-2013 jerseys, the brown and orange now own one of the best sets in the league.
The most underrated move came this off-season when the team swapped their brown facemasks for white ones.
#4 Pittsburgh Steelers
While the Pirates and Penguins have mixed it up over the years, the Pittsburgh Steelers have had the same look since the 1990s. Donning the black and yellow, representing the flag of Pittsburgh, the Steelers' wardrobe is easily recognizable.
After ditching the block jerseys, which have since returned as throwbacks, Pittsburgh has worn its original font, which has seen many legends grace the jersey. Like the Packers and Chargers, the white over yellow works on the road and it wouldn't be the same if they wore anything else. A yellow jersey would be an interesting future addition.
#3 San Francisco 49ers
The red and gold have iconic uniforms that have been mainly the same since the late 1990s. The team has had some minor tweaks over the years including recently adding another stripe and the current wordmark to the crest. Years ago, the team even experimented with an all-black jersey set. The colors flow well, and the white jerseys are iconic after appearing in two Super Bowls in the last few years.
One could say that their 1994 throwbacks, which feature both a home and an away set, are better than their current style. There is a case for both, but it's pretty cool that the 49ers have both options, just like the Miami Dolphins do with their fan-favorite throwbacks. San Francisco looks good in anything in their wardrobe.
#2 Green Bay Packers
If it isn't broken, don't fix it. These timeless Green Bay Packers jerseys, which have seen over a dozen changes before settling on their iconic look today, are some of the best in the NFL. This current set, introduced in 1997, features green over gold with two yellow stripes over white. It has seen the likes of legendary quarterbacks Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, and now Jordan Love.
While the combination of green and gold/yellow is a rarity in professional sports, the Packers have made it a staple with their historical uniforms and a simple "G" logo that stands for greatness. The block font is a classic and the new throwback jersey, which introduced green pants into the mix, is one of the best alternates in sports. The new white helmet designated for the "Winter Whiteout" campaign is a perfect addition to the color rush.
#1 Los Angeles Chargers
Undoubtedly, the best uniform set in the NFL belongs to the Los Angeles Chargers. The powder blue home jerseys are the sharpest in the league and are even better when paired with their yellow pants. The white away jerseys are clean and look great whether paired with the yellow or white. The Chargers are the only team to have three different shades of blue. The royal blue does a great job utilizing the yellow in the font numbers while the all-navy alternate is eye-catching. Adding powder blue pants to the mix could make things even more interesting for the best uniforms in the league.
