This Trade Proposal Could Send Superstar Quarterback To The Seattle Seahawks

The Chicago Bears have a big decision ahead of them. What should they do with the first-overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft? Will they select USC's Caleb Williams, who has been seen as a generational talent compared to Patrick Mahomes?

Or will they keep former first-round pick Justin Fields, who has been the team's starting quarterback since 2021 and has shown flashes but has not taken off like he did at Ohio State? If the Bears decide to part ways with Fields, could the Seattle Seahawks be interested?

Seahawks Quarterback Journey

The Seattle Seahawks traded away franchise quarterback Russell Wilson ahead of the 2022 NFL season to the Denver Broncos and gave the keys to journeyman Geno Smith.

While Smith has had a solid career with Seattle going 18-16 in two seasons with a playoff appearance, the team has been rumored to be looking for a new quarterback after head coach Pete Carroll's departure.

In this proposed deal, the Bears send 2021 first-round pick Justin Fields to Seattle in hopes of unlocking the success he had at Ohio State.

Trade Proposal Sends Fields To Seahawks

Bears receive: 2024 3rd round pick (78), 2024 3rd round pick (81).

Seahawks receive: QB Justin Fields

In this deal, the Seahawks do not have a second-round pick, which many see as Fields' value so they send two third-round picks instead. While this deal is unlikely, Justin Fields playing for the navy and green would be electric and fun to watch. He would be throwing to D.K. Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, the latter of whom played with Fields at Ohio State.

The former Ohio State Buckeye, who holds the record for most rushing yards in one game by a quarterback (178), threw for 41 touchdowns in his 2019 season with the Buckeyes. He only has 40 touchdown passes along with 14 rushing touchdowns in three seasons with Chicago.

However, Fields did have 1,143 rushing yards in 2022 and could have a great season throwing to the loaded Seahawks receiving core. He could have an MVP-caliber breakout season like Jalen Hurts and Joe Burrow did after their teams acquired elite receivers.

What do you think? Should Justin Fields be traded to the Seattle Seahawks?
