Grading The Tre'Davious White Trade

In the NFL there are trades made where notable names get moved. However, sometimes those notable names don't get moved for much of a return, thanks to the decline of that player. Remember when Tre'Davious White was once one of the top players in the NFL? Well, White is on the move, as the Los Angeles Rams traded him to the Baltimore Ravens. The details of that trade are below.

Trade Details for Tre'Davious White

Baltimore Ravens Acquire: CB Tre'Davious White and 2027 7th Round Pick

Los Angeles Rams Acquire: 2026 7th Round Pick

Baltimore Ravens Side

Ravens

Baltimore's defense has been a tremendous mess, and it is shown by how bad the secondary has been. Tre'Davious White is not the player he was years ago, but he is an upgrade to the depth that Baltimore currently has. The Ravens are not even sacrificing much to make this deal happen, so it's worth a shot. Maybe with a change of scenery, White can recapture the elite abilities that he had when he was a Bill.

Los Angeles Rams Side

Rams

White has wanted out of Los Angeles for a few weeks now, and the team permitted him to seek a trade. It was either he gets traded, or the Rams release him so he can ring chase with another team. Well, the Rams got a deal done, but it was not a lot of value. The Rams swapped a 2027 7th-round pick for a 2026 7th-round pick, to make the deal happen.

Grades For Tre'Davious White Trade

Rams

Los Angeles Rams - B+

Baltimore Ravens - B

Looking at how White has played the past few years, it's been quite a fall from grace. Here is a guy, who at one point, was one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, and now he is traded for a 7th-round pick swap. He is an upgrade over what the Raven's current depth is, but not by a lot. Injuries have derailed his play, and White has been one of the worst cornerbacks in the NFL today. The LA Rams got rid of a player who wanted out, and got a pick upgrade for an asset. This is a tough grade here, but I have to give a slightly higher grade to the Los Angeles Rams.
